Detailed Reviews
We stayed at Sulis Beach Hotel & Spa during out visit to Bali in December. From the time we arrived up until the day we left we loved every moment. The staff was great. Always friendly and helpful. The restaurant offers a wide variety of food at great prices. Breakfast offered a variety of options. Rooms and grounds are well kept with very comfortable beds and great air conditioning to fight of the Bali heat. Sulis is very centrally located with lots of restaurants and shops surrounding it. The beach is only a stone throw away. I had one of the most relaxing massages at their spa and although prices are a little more expensive then some of the other places around Bali it was well worth it. I definitely recommend Sulis Beach Hotel & Spa and we will definitely stay there again should we ever return to beautiful Bali.

We stayed at the Sulis Beach for 4 nights.
The rooms are clean and air conditioner works great. Level 5 has a swimming pool and you can order your drinks and food by pressing a button. The staff were amazing. Ray, Ari, whats the name of that great big statue on the horizon?? Wisnu! Wisnu was also very helpful as were all of the staff.
Everything was great. Only one little thing that left a bit of a negative feeling was the system at the check in. They demanded payment upfront and periodically the room charges had to be paid off. Most hotels will wait patiently untill its check out time...this place asked for payment for room charges the afternoon before checkout. A bit odd and kind of made me feel like they eere either desperate for the money or didnt trust my security credit card that i had given them.
Appart from that, it is a good comfortable and quiet plush hotel. Food and drinks are great value.
I recommend that you book it on line and save 300000 rupiah per night.
We needed to stay an extra night due to airline cancellation, the reception didnt allow us to book the room after 4.30 pm. They said come back in the morning, which we sweated over all night , wondering if we had to change hotels or not the next morning...that could have been done better. But all worked out in the end. 4.5/5

Many thanks for your lovely feedback. The housekeeping team and the the restaurant service team were delighted reading your feedback; they sent their best wishes too. Room payment is to be settled upon check-in while incidentals (charges owed) are usually verified one day before check-out. This procedure has been implemented since beginning of last year by request of our repeat guests. Well communicated incidentals & information will likely avoid last-minute rush and ensure smoother check-out. On housekeeping note, financial matters can only be settled from 7 am until 11 pm only (beyond these hours, the front desk is manned by security team with no financial handling). Please accept my apology for the "over-cautious" feel by the receptionist as apparently the communication was not conveyed well. Training for better communication will soon be conducted again while room booking can be made at any time (even at night) as long as the room is still available (otherwise room relocation will be advised then). You are correct with booking online through the hotel's website as you can save cost by applying the promo code. Finally, please keep in touch. We look forward to having you all again on your next Bali holiday and thanks again. Sincerely, PAULUS / General Manager gm@greenbali.com

Very thing in this hotel was spotless sooo clean I could eat me food of the floor! Staff always greeted us with a smile and nothing was to much trouble. Bathroom was big, huge shower!! Food & drink tasted great and great price, we ate at the hotel every night of our stay to enjoy the sunsets. Breakfast had a big selection and changed everyday, egg, pancake station.
The only problem I found staying with my young daughter was our room was under the restaurant so at night we could hear people moving there chairs until the restaurant closed.
Would definitely stay again and recommend to family & friends.

My husband and I went to the Spa today and each received the Bali Island package (foot bath, massage, facial), 2 hours worth of pampering for only Rp. 290.000 plus tax. The staff were great, everything was very clean and pretty. We received a delicious drink and cool towel while we got our foot bath and then we went and had an amazing massage topped with a facial that made us glow. I can’t remember the last time my skin was so soft and it all felt great.
We have also been for dinner a couple times in the last few days. Pasta Carbonara so yummy! garlic bread great! Grilled Lobster awesome and so much cheaper than we are used to at home. Hawaiian pizza was delicious. Spring rolls not bad but I’ve been eating a bunch at Rama Beach (next door) and they are better there. Deep fried ice cream fantastic. Cool breeze, nice view from the 5th floor (elevator up), fish swimming around the edges, awesome staff, clean and comfy and reasonably priced. Added bonus, a complementary 5 minute massage while you wait for your food when available. We actually got one after dessert on our first visit.

A beach side boutique hotel located in the quiet south end of Kuta Beach, Sulis Beach Hotel and Spa offers its guests a relaxed and casual atmosphere. The spacious and comfortable rooms of the hotel offer an unforgettable tropical view of the turquoise ocean and the golden stretch of breath-taking beach. The hotel’s international restaurant offers a variety of western food as well as favorite dishes from Java, Sumatra, and Bali.

This was the third time we have stayed at this hotel and previously had a great stay but since reopening they are trying too hard to cut back on costs. The rooms are still lovely but changing to a set breakfast is penny pinching, if you wanted an extra tea you were charged, we didn’t like the mushrooms and tomatoes and could we substitute those for an extra slice of bacon but we couldn’t but we could have a hash brown instead, but they did relent later. Understaffed and nobody answered the bell in pool area for drinks. We loved this hotel but won’t be going back until they do buffet breakfast and improve their service. Shame.

Response from Paulus Wibowo, General Manager at Sulis Beach Hotel & Spa
Responded 14 Nov 2022
Dear Robert Thank you for returning to stay with us recently (for the 3rd time 😊). I apologize for the inconvenience due to some closures of the hotel's facilities. Please note that the hotel price has been reduced accordingly (as such has been notified in the hotel's website). However, I'm pleased to let you know that the restaurant has been reopened for lunch & dinner as well as the pool service by the bells as of 14 Nov 2022. Guests who book for a room-with-breakfast can now choose any of 12 set menus (there were 9 sets when you were here). Details will be updated in the hotel's website under RESTAURANT and BREAKFAST MENU. Our most popular breakfasts are still the American and English set menus which includes a cup of freshly brewed coffee, tropical fruits and orange juice (the whole set costs less than AUD 7 if you pay at the hotel). Alternatively, if you are not sure with the breakfasts at the hotel, please book for the room-only (without breakfast) which is of a lower room price and you can later decide for your breakfast options. The old all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast, unfortunately, will not return as the cost & wastage would push the room price up significantly (well beyond our repeaters' acceptable range). Nevertheless, if such buffet breakfast is what you need, please book for the room-only as you always love our hotel rooms. You can always find buffet breakfasts at the surrounding hotels, depending to your budget & preference, from as low as AUD 10 per person for a basic spread to AUD 30 for an expansive spread (there are many available in between that price range nearby if you wish). We look forward to having you again on your next Bali holiday. Best regards, Paulus Wibowo General Manager

Sulis
Spa was terrific the massage by Yani was just what I needed on Christmas Day after a long flight & 90 min in cab from airport on Christmas Eve (usually 10mjn). The rooms are large with great beds nice & comfortable, the bathroom large and balcony a nice bonus. The garden view on level 2 or is best. The rooftop pool is beautiful. The breakfast is your standard Kuta buffet best to get there earlier as tends to run low after 9.30am.
I will booked my folks in on there return to Kuta & I would stay again.
Thanks, the front desk service staff you looked after me really well. Thankyou

We stayed here for 2 nights in October 2024 and wished we had booked more nights! The hotel room was large, modern, had a huge private patio and was so clean. The room and bathroom were spotless clean!! The roof top patio was beautiful with amazing views of the ocean. The pictures online don't do it justice, the hotel is even nicer in person. We paid to have our breakfast included which was delicious and great service. We would go back here in a second. Short walk to the beach, store and many restaurants. Note: The typical cost at the beach for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella was 100,000 RP. If you are just one person, 50,000 RP. Also, bring your own towels, the hotel (most hotels that we found) do not provide beach towels. We brought our own and had them laundered, most hotels we stayed in offered affordable laundry service.

I am currently staying at the Sulis Hotel for a second time. I originally only booked 12 nights here but have just extended my stay for another 10 nights as I am so happy here and feel safe. The hotel is opposite the beach and close to restaurants, markets and Lippo Shopping Mall. The staff are so friendly and accommodating and the rooms are cleaned superbly. I am happy that there is no buffet as the hotel is following health regulations as in many other countries where buffets are banned. The rooftop pool and views are stunning. I will definitely be staying here on my next visit.

Yes, each floor has at least 1 elevator access (majority has 3 elevators).
Breakfast is served in the restaurant on level 4 from 8 am until 10 am with a la carte service. Breakfast is no longer buffet but various selections of set menus.
Bathtub is not available in guest rooms but a large walk-in shower with glass enclosure.

Poultry and beef are halal as our suppliers are halal certified from Majelis Ulama Indonesia. Fish and seafood are from fishermen (I'm not sure if those are eligible for being halal).
You can simply ask the wait service staff for no-pork and they would understand what to advise.
