Had a enjoyable 4D3N stayed at Maharani Beach Hotel. The staffs are very friendly and greet us with their warmest smile when we arrived (even though checked in late night) and fulfilled every requests from us (extra pillow, extra towel e.g.)

Pro:
I. Strategic place at the central of Kuta beach with mall, restaurants, convenient shops within walking distances. *McD just right beside the hotel !
II. Straight to Kuta beach !
III. Friendly and lovely staffs !

Cons:
I. Salty water supply (‘Warm up’ the water tap to eliminate its saltiness)
II. WiFi available upon purchase (both public and room)
III. Short staircase to access to the lift

Overall, it is great value for its price with such strategic spot at Kuta Beach (though there are a lot of high class hotels nearby as well but also come with its price)

*Breakfast was a simple one yet very locally presented.

As such hotel is at a very good location however other things are missing. Room is ok with small toilets. There is NO room service except daily housekeeping. One has to go to reception if you want to have a extra pillow or a travel adapter. Wifi is charged at USD 3-4 per day. Breakfast is same on all days and not so good. Had to manage with bread and omellete. And last thing - swimming pool is dirty, didnt felt like getting into smei great water.

This hotel is just 2 mins walk from kuta beach and 10 min walk from kuta market. It is a decent hotel with maximum amenities like locker, soap, teapot, etc available. Breakfast variety is available but not so great taste wise. Water of the hotel taste very funny and we had to use mineral water to wash our face. We had normal room and it was ok as we use that only to sleep in night. Swimming pool is not so great with funny tasting water there was well. Popular Legian street is 15 min walk from there. Overall, pricewise it is good hotel to stay.

This place came highly recommended. We know not to listen to anyone else again.
Place is very outdated, full of mould. We showered in salt water, its was like it come from the sea. There were lifts inbetween floors, not on the actual floors you needed to carry your bags upstairs and down.
We climbed the stairs every day, we are just glad we were fit enough to do this, I know other people were struggling. Defiantly not a place if you have bad hips , legs or wheelchair bound, or elderly.
Breakfast was ok, only thing I wasn't kean on the milk was warm, I like cold milk for cereal. The staff are beautiful people, but when we checked out early first thing they said was no refund. I wasn't going to ask for a refund, they needn't had worried.
I wouldn't stay here again.

The hotel itself is old and needs some obvious updating and cleanliness needs to be improved. The customer service is excellent here and the breakfast is very good for the price set. The internet, however, was not consistent and we had to move rooms (3) three times. Our other group there network was fine. One major drawback you will have to walk up the stairs to go to the elevator for the 2nd and upward floors and quite an inconvenience for those with disabilities or having a lot of luggage. Location is nice across from the beach and unfortunately a lot of peddling and unsavory characters. Just have to ignore or just not stay here. Be careful not to be alone at night, especially females. We just ignored our stay and enjoyed the convenience of getting to where were wanted to be.

This was our second stay at Maharani, it is awesome value for money with amazing service. Our room was always spotlessly clean, wifi was great and the location is the best.
The staff at the front desk, breakfast, security and cleaners were exceptional. They should all be commended for attention to detail. Eka at breakfast always made the perfect omelette and Yuni & the girls at front desk new us by name and made our stay so pleasant.
Yes the breakfast is basic but for $50 Aud per night, it’s more than adequate. What makes this hotel great is the staff and the location. We will be returning in April for another two week stay.

I made a reservation online in advance.
I arrived by taxi from the airport, but there were piles of scrap materials at the entrance
and renovations were underway.
When I asked the construction worker, he said, "They're not working on it anymore."
I quickly stayed in a nearby hotel...
I was glad I didn't have to sleep outside.

We had an 8 night stay booked in for the Maharani Hotel and had to leave on the second as the hotel room was unsafe, and quite frankly, disgusting.
When we first arrived we were given a twin room, which was not as we requested. We sat in the twin room (which still had rubbish in the bins and old towels on the bathroom floor) for 25 minutes before being moved to the lobby for half an hour while they found us a king bed room.
When we eventually got to our room we were less than impressed. The sheets and pillow cases were dirty, there was sand all over the floor and the spare toilet paper sitting on top of the toilet looked as though it had been dropped in poo. The safe that the hotel provides is not even bolted down, so someone could just pick it up and walk out the door which is just ridiculous, especially as my boyfriend had an expensive engagement ring hidden in his wallet. The bathroom roof over the sink had completely sunken down and was basically detached from the rest of the bathroom roof and there were old hair ties and bobby pins in the bath tub. The shower head only accommodates someone 5 foot tall to stand under it properly, and my boyfriend had a lot of trouble showering under the head as he is well over 6 foot. As the walls are paper thin we heard people running and screaming through the halls all night and could barely sleep.
The next day we had a day trip planned and on our way out I asked the girls at reception to please change the sheets while we were out as they were dirty (to the point that I took the top sheet off the bed as it was disgusting and I didn't want to sleep under it). When we arrived home after 6pm that night, we found that the sheets had not been changed, the bed was simply remade, and after asking reception to please change the sheets again, I was told that housekeeping had gone home for the night and I would have to wait another day for them to be changed. Standing in the bathroom, I could hear the person in the room above us urinating, pulling toilet paper off the wall and flushing the toilet very clearly. No one should have to listen to this! At 9pm my boyfriend had a shower, and when shutting the door, the down light fell from the roof and was swinging, live, over the sink. He went downstairs to reception and was told "maybe just don't use the bathroom lights", which is absolutely ludicrous and unsafe. As well as that, when my boyfriend went to plug in his phone to charge behind the bed, we found the lamp was plugged in to a power point that had completely detached from the wall, with live cords hanging out of the wall. We found this hotel to be incredibly unsafe so we packed up and left around 10pm for another hotel.
The next morning we went to check out and on reinspecting the room for belongings, I noticed that the same room service from next door was still sitting outside between our room and theirs from when we arrived. Not only had it been sitting there for 48 hours, but more room service had been delivered and was just stacked on top of the existing plates without any of it being removed, even after complaining about this before we left the night before.
Luckily we managed to get 6 of the 8 nights accommodation refunded through Expedia. The hotel that we transferred to was so much cleaner, more accommodating and safer than the Maharani, for not a lot more money. The 36 hours that we stayed there put a dampener on our holiday, to the point that we considered going home as we weren't sure whether we would get a refund and couldn't afford to pay for accommodation that was unusable.
Do yourself a favour and don't put yourself through the awful experience that the Maharani presented at every turn.

Dear lani_looloo, Warmest greeting from Maharani Beach Hotel I was greatly disappointed to read of all the difficulties you encountered during your stay. I take this opportunity to forward my sincere apologies. We clearly got it wrong putting you in to a room that wasn't ready to be occupied on your arrival and it appears your stay went downhill from there. I regret that there was not an opportunity for me to meet with you while you were here as there may have been an opportunity for us to make things right after a difficult start. Its difficult after the event to investigate the specific circumstances of your stay but please be assured your feedback is valued and taken on board. We strive to provide all of our guests with the best possible experience. Based on the majority at feedback received in generally succeed. Sadly not on this occasion. Once again please accept our sincere apologies and i hope you were still able enjoy all that Bali has to offer. We have genuine commitment towards our guest and thank you for your feedback. Best Regards, Nita Traeger

Lead in rooms at Maharani are cheaper than a back-packers in Australia and you get a lot more for your money.

25 SQM very tastefully decorated spacious superior rooms for a start, with modern en-suite and breakfast! Even has cable TV. For just a few shekels more you can enjoy a 30 SQM room with a balcony that has excellent panoramic sea views. The perfect spot to catch the sunsets.

And all this right in the heart of everything Kuta has to offer – walking distance to nightlife, food, bars, shopping and the famous beach itself is just across the road.
This well-appointed 2 - 3 Star property even has a Spa! You wouldn’t see one of those in a back-packers!
Let’s not forget it also has a pool with a swim-up bar and the Sandbar restaurant has established itself as a favourite with visitors, not just in-house guests, for its high-quality Mediterranean & Indonesian Cuisine.

Its position on a map does not do justice to its true location, that being it is virtually on Kuta Beach Street without paying a premium for the convenience of being so well positioned.

Please note it does have a bar directly opposite the lobby entrance with bands playing most nights. Some people love it others not so sure, however, they don’t play after 10.30pm so on Bali standards that’s considered an early night in.

This hotel exceeded my expectations – you get a lot of bang for your buck. If on a budget or just looking for excellent value then seriously consider the Maharani.

We just checked out. The room is fine but our bathroom was not good. Also we had spots on the bedsheet. I don't know what you saw on pictures but what we saw was not that great - but still not the worst. Also the hotel lies in a noisy area. Bring earplugs.

They charge for the Wifi if the room is booked online ... however we were a walkin guest , I changed my hotel to maharani since I loved the location , so I got Wifi free of charge but the connection isn't very good in the rooms but excellent in the lobby ... Bali has wifi nearly everywhere , even if u visit a small restaurant they have free wifi so even if you don't opt for it in the hotel won't miss having it .
