We loved this hotel! It oozes charm and friendliness.
It's ideally situated for a walk along the Ghats or a walk around local shops and back streets. The area around it was clean and felt very safe,
The room we had was full of artefacts...More
You can stand on the steps of the hotel and see the Ganges, what more can you ask for? The hotel is friendly, welcoming and safe. We were two females travelling alone and we felt 100% safe here. Our room was clean and furnished beautifully...More
This is apparently an old palace made up of several floors and an assortment of rooms. It is located very close to the Ganges river with river views partially obstructed by trees and other buildings. It is an interesting building with patios on several levels....More

Had two nights this week at the Ganges View and really enjoyed the experience.
Older style guest house with loads of character that provided an enjoyable stay.
Staff were good, food was enjoyable, rooms were really comfortable.
Would happily come again.

I have to say that I found India a very safe place to visit and at no time felt uncomfortable. However we were two men travelling together and therefore cannot say exactly what it is like as a female traveller although I believe my wife would have felt very comfortable if she had been travelling with me. On the whole Indians appear very respectful and I don't believe that you will have any particular problem. In respect of your belongings in your room, the hotel seemed secure but as with any sort of travel, if you can't put valuables in a safe then I would suggest you keep them on you at all times.
