There were some things I liked about this hotel but overall my experience here just wasn't good. The positives: the location is near to the burning ghat (which could also be a negative), the room was clean, good views from the rooftop and friendly staff. The negatives: food poisoning from the rooftop restaurant (I didn't eat anywhere else at this...

Since I was a foreign student in India, I was on a budget, so I was looking for some cheap hostel/hotel. I could only go to Varanasi for a weekend because of school, but I didn't book any accomodation in advance, although it was during Kumba Mela, and people told me, Varanasi could be full because of many pilgrims going...

Mishra guest house is in a great location, only 2 minutes down hill to the ganges... and great for taking a long walk along all the major ghats. the main burning ghat is no more than 10 minutes away . views from the roof top restaurant is also a bonus , although the food and general service and time for...

We had a basic, but very clean room, which was exactly as we had asked, and for a very reasonable price. The staff are friendly and helpful- we were offered a free tour, which we took up, and found really interesting (we gave a small tip), and the guide is able to answer any questions. No hassling to go into...

So glad we ended up here, as it had a 3-tier room price system, so something for everyone, depending on your budget and what you want in your room (the expensive rooms having a shower and a balcony with a great view of the ganges (and maybe a tv? Can't quite remember!), the cheaper rooms having a bucket shower and...

Although this is a reasonably priced and reasonably clean hotel by Varanasi standards, the attitude of the staff was such that I decided to leave after 2 nights of my 8 night stay in this city that I have visited at least 10 times. I still give it an average score, as it may have only been a clash of...

My friend and I stayed there in April 2012 for 3 days after the hostel we initially booked turned out to be a bad choice. Therefor we followed two fellow travelers to this guest house, which is situated close to the famous Manikarnika ghat (burning ghat). We chose a simple two person room, room, shower and toilet were okay. After the first...

It's budget, the rooms are basic and the mattresses are pretty hard but the positives outweighs these. Located right beside one of the main ghats ( burning ghats) and boasts a very amazing rooftop restaurant view. The staff here are ultra helpful which amounts to so much if you are there a few days. All major attractions were labelled and...

The building has a large, echo-y interior that makes small noisy reverberate throughout building, especially the television set, which is turned on very early in the morning. Also, some sort of ritualistic bell ringing, which begins promptly at 6am every morning outside hotel, is very loud. Didnt get good sleep while I stayed here.

We got a very basic room for a reasonable price, shower was only luke warm though... There was not much noise from outside, but there was a guy from the hotel who decided at 6am to put some music on. The hotel is completely open, so loud Indian guys can be a nuisance late at night or early in the...

“203 was a nice BIG room, quoted at $800 INR, but if you are staying 4 + days, and no AC ask for your budget, and you are likely to get a better price, I got what I was after, which was a good discount, so made up for some of the negatives!”
