We were put up between 25-28 Dec'21. We cancelled our The Fern booking & booked HHI, just because of the distance to the Ghats. We regretted this decision later. On checking in, the room (#505) was not cleaned, we found an used cup and used towels lying around. The chain latch was found broken, a/c not working. When we enter the room, we had to go towards the bed to switch on the lights instead it doing from the the main door usually. We had to switch on our cell torch whenever we came back to our room late evening. The hotel does not even have basic toiletries like tooth paste, brush, comb, hair dryer etc. They served same breakfast every morning. No change in the menu. On complaining to Mr.Bharati, the restaurant manager, he bluntly asked us to complain to the hotel manager. We also complained to the bakery lady chef who was just around our table, but to deaf ears. Infact she was trying to defend herself by saying that she has joined the hotel just 6 months ago. Another guest also had a loud argument when he simply asked for a fork & wasnt given for a long time. The waiters keep grumbling on every request of the customers. They never bother to serve drinking water unless you ask for it. A simple request for ketchup, chatni etc would take quite a long time. We observed that the food & beverage containers were always empty & never refilled timely. We had to wait for too long or compromise on that particular item. Bakery products are very limited & same everyday (fruitbread, chocolate donut & Croissant). Croissants were not baked properly & also the Bondas were not cooked & fried properly. No LIVE counter for vegetarians. They have live counter for Omlette, but not for Dosas/Parathas etc. When we asked for Dosas, we were informed that the dosa pan was damaged (it made me wonder that the hotel kitchen was dependent on only one pan). The staff is too unprofessional & rude in behaviour and with a very high attitude. House keeping incharge was also very rude. One of our room wasnt opening, we requested him to get our card key recharged, he flatly refused & said that he does not have time for such things. My experience was really very terrible. HHI is not at all any "Luxury Property", its too ordinary budget type hotel. I wont even give a single star to the property & negative to service & attitude. It seems, they dont have the word "Hospitality" in their dictionary.…
Housekeeping missing. You keep one calling no one respond. Restaurant manager is having serious problem in life. He don't know basics of hospitality. Check in will take infinite time so be prepared. After that your room will give surprise wait for that. HK missing again to resolve
I've reviewed the hotel in the past and nothing has changed. The location is the only good thing about the hotel. HHI is an old property that is in a dire need of upgradation. At this price you can get a 5star in the Cantonment area but you'll distant yourself from the city center. The rooms smell musty, the breakfast is bad and the checkout time is 11 am. The only good thing about the hotel is the location.
Looks tall from the outside amidst small buildings. Do not get fooled. Dirty inside. 1. Water does not drain quickly in the washbasin and in the bathing area. 2. USB chargers does not work in room 408 3. Plugs points broken. Fortunately one worked. 4. Internet in room 408 is simply awesome. I have to go to the reception area to work. 5. Room service (dial 7)… is a joke. They do not pick up the phone. You have to call reception and ask them to call them to call you back … forget it. 6. Cannot believe these guys got a four star. Do not waste your time and money here.
Me and my wife stayed here from 22nd to 29th oct 21 . The booking was done by Agoda and stay was fully paid while booking. The Booking confirmation was not email to me within the stipulated time , and I was bit jittery. But Mr Satish Mishra of HHI - front office took extra pain to retrieve my booking and confirmed me. He is very polite man He takes extra initiative for their customer satisfaction. The breakfast is good as per international standard . House keeping is okay , but their continental food preparation is not satisfactory. The staff behaviour was good - a special thanks to front office Mr Satish Mishra.
