Based on my impression, hotels in Agra were either really expensive and nice or cheap, a bit dingy and had bad reviews. I was pleasantly surprised at the value of hotel kamal ($17-$20) and the quality. The beds were comfortable, the room temperature cool, running hot water, and very friendly and helpful service staff (especially from Sunny). The only complaint...

I choose this place to get the early morning sunrise pictures of the Taj. This is their primary asset and I think the rooms come at a bit of a premium relative to their true value because of this. My room was simple, relatively clean and no frills. The shower didn't provide hot water nor was there toilet paper. Complaining...

Most hotels and guest houses in the Taj Ganj district of Agra represent poor value for money, but Hotel Kamal is probably the pick of the bunch (paying a premium for proximity to Taj Mahal !!). Rooms are reasonably clean and sufficiently large but the hot water is rather intermittent. I had to request facilities like towels, a bed-sheet and...

i hired a rickshaw at station for the day -- i recommend you do so if you are staying here, for rickshaw gate is right outside the hotel and if you arrive without having a chartered rickshaw, you will be swarmed and bullied (yes, bullied! they were quoting double the prices to another tourist, because they are strength in numbers,...

I didn't stay at the hotel kamal. I arrived and they showed me to their "semi-deluxe" room which had one tiny window that didn't open, a layer of dirt on every surface (I've been backpacking through India for a month now, I don't mind a little dirt) but I put my pack down for ten minute while I searched for...

We stayed here last night for 3 nights. This hotel is great! The location is right next to the South Gate and a 2 mins walk to the Taj Mahal. The rooftop restaurant is unbeatable, it is right in front of the Taj Mahal where you could sit and view all day as they serve good breakfast, lunch and dinner...

Stayed here for a night and I have to say for £12 I was pleasantly surprised. Decent sized room and clean by india standards. View from roof terrace is as good as I wished and although I was eating veggie food was pretty good. Staff very helpful also.

This hotel was the cheapest of our entire holiday, chosen to keep overall costs down and because it is a five minute walk from the West Gate of the Taj Mahal (this is the gate that you will need if you want to get there as soon as it opens - 7am. All the other gates open at 8am). It...

The hotel is very close to the Taj, so you can easily walk there. The room was fairly clean but the bathroom was not an acceptable level of cleanliness. I also found the perfume in the air far too strong and nearly suffocating in the middle of the night. As a solo female, I didn't feel very safe with the...
