This is one of the Hotel that is located near Ooty Boathouse and the view from the Room balcony has a good view over the lake. The hotel has both pros and Cons. I stayed during New Year Eve and they conducted events and dinner was nice. There were frequent Power fluctuations during the stay which was disappointed. They have only one lift for the entire 6 floor which adds more time to wait for going up and down. Often Water is not coming in the Washrooms (both Hot and cold) and we need to keep calling them often. The Breakfast menu that was provided has limited varieties. They don't have Cupboards to keep our things and No chairs in the room. Being a reputed hotel, the heaters should have provided complimentary, But they are charging an amount for the same. The room which I stayed seems to be renovated (premier rooms). Apart from view from the room i am not satisfied

Hotel Darshan being a fairly new property is well maintained and located at a picturesque location in Ooty. Location: If you are a person searching for a peaceful property situated far from the main town then this is one of the best place to stay. It is located approximately 2km from the main market and it oversees the famous ooty lake. You won't find any hustle or noise of the town throughout the day and evening onwards it becomes too quiet. It is situated opposite the lake boat house and there are few local shops situated, however if you want to visit the main market then a 20mins brisk walk is to be done from the hotel. There are loads and loads of greenery around the property and a sense of peace will prevail within you by staying here. Rooms: to get the best view of the lake, a premium room is a must. A big enough room loaded with all major amenities and a beautiful view of the ooty lake makes the premium rooms to fall for. The design of the hotel is such that ample open space is available in each of the floors barring the sixth floor which have private balconies. The rest of the floors have adjoining terrace to enjoy the view of the lake. Plastic bottles are banned in ooty so there is provision for a water purifier in the room which is really needed. They have electric kettle and all amenities to prepare tea and coffee inside the room. There is 24 hr running hot water available but sometimes they forget to switch on the hot water pressure pump so in that case you need to call the reception and it will be sorted.washrooms are super clean and spacious with all amenities including a hair dryer. The bed is comfy but if you are suffering from back pain then the mattress is a big no for you. Else those who enjoy fluffy and comfy mattresses, for them it's a nice option to choose. The television has limited hindi channels available as a subscription but still that part is manageable as most of the time you will be outside enjoying. The balcony has seating facility with a coffee table so that you can enjoy the view while having your tea or coffee or snacks. Food: they offer buffet breakfast and the options are fairly good to start your day. They serve idli, sambhar, chutney, poha. Dosa and poori are made to order. Remember it's a vegetarian restaurant so you won't get any non veg options. However they have omlette in their menu card but they don't serve. Food is tasty and affordable. The Chinese preparations are the best. They don't have much South Indian food options in lunch or dinner. The North Indian preparations need improvement. Snacks have limited options but the French fries and the pakodas are freshly prepared and tasty too. The most important part! Service : Very satisfactory. They provided airport pick up and drop in a neat and clean sedan with a very polite and nice driver. The fare is very reasonable and at par with the market standard. The driver Karthik is a nice person and will help you in getting the best sightseeing possible. He also guided me to get my rtpcr tests done before my departure. Room service is very good. The staffs are very polite and humble. Mr. Anup and Mr. Vikram have extended their all possible help to make our stay comfortable. As a special obligation they helped me in getting the print out of my boarding pass as well. Room service is very nice. They clean the room and washroom on daily basis and it is done very professionally. Hotel Decor: one of the best decors I have seen. Very simple and elegant with loads of open space available. The corridors are decorated with monochrome paintings depicting the history of the tribal culture of Tamilnadu. The doors have an elegant design and they paste a welcome note printed in your native language which is a unique thing. The alleys have many flowering planters and they are clean and maintained. Areas of improvement: 1. They mainly accept cash so keep a lot of cash handy as you won't get an atm nearby untill you reach main market. During this covid time, I suggest that cashless transactions may be encouraged. 2. The rooms in the monsoon attract a lot of flies and even after proper cleaning they still remain inside the room which could be a turnoff for you. It's better to have insect repellents inside the rooms to provide better ambience. 3. North Indian Preparations need improvement and more South Indian cuisines may be introduced in the menu apart from breakfast. 4. They have elevator however it's accessible from 1st floor only. People need to walk 10-15 steps towards the first floor to board the lift. It's difficult for elderly people who couldn't walk upstairs. I don't know why the provision of elevator till the ground floor is not done. Overall a very pleasant and memorable stay with very courteous staff members and managers.

Hotel Darshan is located right infront of the famous Ooty lake. We stayed in there premier room which has a balcony with the lake view. The stay was comfortable. They even have bonfire everyday with snacks, pizza etc which was a plus. The only issue we had was the fact that the rooms didnt have enough cupboards for storage. There is just one but the space is taken up by locker. The bathrooms were clean as well except the curtains. The bedsheets have been used to many times and was not comfortable.

When we booked this hotel was bit skeptical of the crowd and busy street near to hotel as it is in close proximity of Ooty lake. To our surprise, it was just opposite, located at quite and pine tree covered road and overlooking Ooty lake, with just 2 mins walk to lake. Hotel has lift so staying with elderly parents was not a problem. We stayed in suite room which had a small seat out part with sofa and room separated by glass door. Room was of decent size for 1 or 2 nights stay. Bathroom and rooms were clean with tea coffee maker and all-time hot water. In front of rooms there is common roof type area with swing etc from where you get view of ooty lake. Dont miss the morning misty view of the lake. Reception area is small and may get bit crowded. Hotel has safe parking area. We took ala carte for dinner and they have cook from northeast, who makes great veg Chinese dishes. North Indian food was also great. It's pure veg hotel. Breakfast spread and taste was decent with fresh made Dhosa/Idly, Bread, Puri etc. They have smaller seating area for breakfast compared to rooms they have. So if hotel is fully booked, breakfast place gets bit busy with line for Dhosa/ Puri. So better to go early for breakfast. if you dont have car, you can just hire auto to visit all sightseeing in Ooty town like Botanical garden etc.
