Extremely accommodating allowing for late dinner and late checkout. Rooms were exceptional, clean, roomy with lovely decor. Staff in all areas were friendly and helpful. Food in lobby restaurant was variec and delicious. Although not in central part of town I'd recommend to stay here

It wad a pretty decent hotel to stay... Service was also good.. Staff was friendly and humble they also helped us visiting the near by tourist attractions ..everything was pretty descent Except for the gym... In which the equipments were little outdated... Overall good experience...value for money..

I choose GRT juz coz have trusted dis brand hav been staying in most of their properties in Chennai, tuticorin, pondy......
As usual great service and Credit to d team for maintaing their service in all their properties.....
Negative abt this hotel, the approach road is congested and the road facing part of the hotel is too noisy.....
Check in could be made much simpler and faster.....
Food quality and taste is awesome,the breakfast menu was widely spread......
I feel this property is on the higher side for a place lik madurai.......
If i am not wrong the property they hav in tuticorin also comes under the regency brand which is much cheaper than this.......

My son and I arrived after a long trip from the UK with several connections. The reception staff in particular were very helpful as they helped us to sort out the rest of the journey the following day to the rural south. They also advised us on the best way to use our short time in Madurai. They turned what could have been a difficult trip into a successful one, many thanks.

Exactly ten days back, I stayed with GRT Regency Madurai, when I first saw Hotel staff who had come to pick us at the airport was very neat and clean. Same was with the vehicle in which we travelled it looked like a new Innova. At the hotel the staff was very good with their welcome. But when we tried to get to our room at the third floor, my wife
got scared by the lift, as the sensors at the doors not in good workin condition. the next day when my wife and 6 year old daughter had to go in the lift alone, it was just goin to first floor and third floor on its own without opening the doors..finally they managed to come back to Ground floor, this time we took the other small lift to our room.
The quality of food at the Restaurant Aharam was not worth the price, we had ordered kofta and out of the 4 kofta balls in the dish three were so hard to break and the last one
was literally impossible to break, I called and handed the dish back to them. Ofcourse they offered the same dish again but I refused to have it. But they didnt hesitate to add it to our bills. I think I was wrong in ordering a North Indian dish to them. May be they are good with South Indian dishes.
The pool at the hotel is located at the rear side of the hotel. To get there you need to go out of the main lobby door via the main parking area. And the pool too was small. I guess it is meant for kids.
I took the Deluxe double room, the room was big, neat and clean with LCD TV. The wide window was good. AC was good enough only at one instance when we tried to reduce it,
the power for the whole room went off.
Good and Polite staff, 24 hours checkin, two hours grace period to checkout; few good things that I liked. The Travels from the hotel was way too high compared to the rates other travels in the city would charge for the same type of vehicle.
Overall the stay was good except the terrible experience with the lift and unworthy dinner
at Aaharam.

This is a perfect place for anyone that likes to unwind in a Western Hotel after exploring an intense, spiritual city. We enjoyed the hotel. THe food was very good. Buffet was very good. It was priced a little lower than buffets in bigger cities, but it was still higher than restaurants in town by a lot. We were a family a 6 traveling all over India and found this hotel to be perfect for children who came to India for the first time and needed a break. We loved Madhurai and the hotel helped in the experience!

i was recommended by my friend in NewDelhi and Iwas very happy staying here, the services are excellent and staffs are always friendly and helpful. one of the best food i have ever tasted. I am recommending this to everyone because the hotel has nice facilities and rich ambeience.

This hotel was recommended by my travel agent - he said this was better than the Taj. Although I can't compare them, this was a solid hotel and would definitely stay here again. The rooms were very comfortable, great bathrooms, and the service was excellent - they even went to get me some drug store items I had forgotten at home. They have a nice pool, albeit a bit short to do laps. The only compaint I had was that it did not have a gym. The food was also good.

This hotel is very nice. Quite recent and well maintained. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast was very good with a lot of choice. Service was excellent. All staff was very helpfull and nice. Location is not great. Not very nice area and far from everything. Good to sleep there

If you mean to the most important temple it's no, it's about 2.3miles = 3.5km to Meenakshi temple.
