The best palace hotel in India! After very long we experienced the real Taj hospitality which I have grown up experiencing but found missing in most properties (even Taj) nowadays but so happy to have experienced it at Umaid Bhawan thanks to the older staff (38+ years of service) and the newer ones also.

Me and my wife stayed in the Maharani suite in the Umaid Bhawan palace, which is the best suite of the entire palace, for celebrating our wedding. When we arrived, we were greeted by red carpet entry and rose petals were sprinkled in front of me and my wife. After that Alka took us into the hotel and were given a tour of both Maharaja suite and the Maharani suite. We liked the Maharani suite so much that we decided to go for it. After that we went to Risala for tea and saw a cultural event at the stairs overlooking the huge garden while the room was being set up for us. Once we went upto the suite, we finally decompressed and had some time to drink in the splendor of the huge suite! The suite had a dining room, a living room, a bed room, a spa, an extremely beautiful bath tub (the whole thing was constructed from a single stone, they told us), a jacuzzi, a steam room, a crazy sized balcony overlooking the garden and a dressing room. Normally I’m not a fan of such extravaganza, but in that suite, all of this just didn’t feel excessive - rather all of the different amenities felt at home. I was so awed by the suite in fact, that we tried to really drink in the experience of spending our time there lest we regret later. The descriptions of the different aspects of the suite can go on, but I can focus on how I felt: I felt pure awe while I was in the suite, feeling humbled to see how the kings and queens used to live, with gratitude at having had a chance to experience it. I also felt moved by the elegance of everything in the suite: small details like beautiful floorboard below the bed or the view of the garden from the jacuzzi. At the cost of sounding overly poetic, I was also reminded of the following lines by William Blake, “Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand And Eternity in an hour” After that, we went downstairs to Risala for dinner which was a great experience as well. Next morning, we had breakfast in the balcony at the suggestion of hotel staff which was a great experience as well. There were very minor electricity issues which the staff took care of, immediately. The staff was also generous enough to provide an extension of the checkout time since we arrived very late. The checkout process was also really smooth. At the end we took a tour with the hotel staff to learn more about the history of the palace before we exited the palace. I’d definitely recommend the hotel and the suite to anyone else who considers staying there. It’s definitely an experience to go for, at least once! …

unique grandeur with unmatched hospitality. the airport pickup, check in, rooms, food, spa, everything was spot on. only pool was missed due to covid restrictions. the beauty of the garden and Baradari is a sight to behold against the setting sun.

A true royal experience.. they upgraded us to the second highest category and the suite was just awesome.. too lavish.. No doubt the palace has been maintained very well .. Each corner is magnificent Their food quality lacked somehow.. the only thing we felt they need to improve upon Rest is Royal!!!

We did a road trip in January this year so we went from Delhi to Agra onto Jaipur then Jodphur and Udiapur over 3 1/2 weeks. The roads are great and we used Driver India Private Tours ( +917838980017) and they provided the excellent vehicle, very professional driver and tour guides when we requested them. Great way to see India.

They do not allow you inside the palace, if you are not staying there. You get access to museum only(public entrance after paying entrance fees). However, at times the palace allows you to make reservation for lunch/dinner at their restaurants(Risala/Pillars). You should call them ahead of time and get confirmation. This will give you access to the palace and its grounds. Hope this helps and good luck!

Our package was inclusive of Hi -tea which was free. Anybody staying in Hotel will get free Hi-tea.
