We stayed 2 nights with Chhotaram and his family and enjoyed them all - especially the children and Chhotaram himself. He is a natural good humoured, considerate person. We went on the village jeep tour, and enjoyed being immersed in village life. Chhotaram is helping his village by bringing in tourists, and displaying rugs made by local craftspeople. We bought...

The clean rooms, great pure veg food, comfy beds and hot water are the icing on the cake. The real stars here are Chhotaram and the delightful Mumta, the genuine warmth and welcome and the hospitality. The whole family are a joy and staying with them was wonderful. Walk the village, help with the food, and the cows, especially Seru,...

It was great to stay in a rural village setting and to get to know the family and mix with people in the village. Chhotaram and his family were very welcoming hosts. We enjoyed the food and joining in the preparation of the meal. The rooms were comfortable and of a local traditional style. We also enjoyed seeing the rug...

We are happy to have stayed at this place for a night. We could not spend much time and could not visit the places around. This is a decent place from accommodation and food perspective but would rate great for experiencing the village lifestyle, culture and hospitality. We were treated like a family guest. My son enjoyed playing with other...

After a photo safari were we saw peacocks, antilopes and 1 black and white antilope, we had typical Indian family diner on a carpet with Chhotalal family. I could see Chhotalal wife cooking and could talk with her because her English is really good. She is cooking everyday for the entire family (15pax) and for their guests and her cooking...

Most people seem to come across Chhotaram Prajapat via the village tours. The village tour is well worth doing and certainly if that is all the time you have do take the tour. However, if you have a night or two, make the effort to stay at the homestay with Chhotaram and his family. We (family of 5 - kids...

This property lies at a distance of 20 km from Jodhpur railway station. The roads are in fairly good condition (for the most part) and the travel time is between 30 to 40 minutes. The hosts are very warm and friendly. Chhotaramjee and his brother Shambhujee waited for us at the railway station for two hours without complaining (our train...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Anyone visiting India would be cheating himself or herself if they didn't get a taste of Indian countryside. It's not that difficult. Jodhpur is surrounded by natural beauty on all sides and within a few minutes, one can be up in the village, where peace reigns: the only sounds may be those of the birds or an occasional buffalo. From the aspects of proximity to the city as well as the countryside, access and utter, unspoiled beauty, staying at Chhotaram Prajapat's Homestay in Salawas is a good choice. The little village is just 20 Kms. from city center. For those who enjoy cycling, bird-watching or merely relaxing in the peace and quiet, this area is simply perfect. It moves at the typical slow pace of such villages, and you may remark that a lot of people seem to spend a lot of time just sitting around chatting. Well, they do. Nobody here seems to die of stress! Jodhpur is a fascinating city with much to recommend it, but as with all Indian cities, it is not peaceful, so even if you choose to spend the day shopping or sightseeing, its certainly recommended to travel the short distance to Chhotaram's homestay for a perfect evening and a peaceful night. Cmhomestay has a friendly, intimate atmosphere that will calm and relax you. We can provide lunchtime Tipical Rajasthani food, delicious evening meals. Bicycles available. Laundry service. Massage. Camel-riding and countryside trekking arranged. In the room rates traditional welcome with tica, chai/coffee, breakfast is inclusive. We arrange village safari formally known as a BISHNOI VILLAGE SAFARI at competitive rates.Except all this, you can enjoy shopping, trekking, village safari, visit to historical places, bird watching etc. There are many transport facilities which can make your trip enjoyable and comfortable too. To sum up, Chhotaram Prajapat’s homestay will be memory to cherish which you will never be able to forget for the whole of your life.So what are you waiting, start packing your bags and just land at this heavenly paradise. ... more   less
