Helsinki House is situated at the edge of Lake Gadisar. This beautiful haveli has uninterrupted views out across the desert sands, a monsoonal lake, and the golden city, Jaisalmer. The impressive exterior of the hotel features breathtaking architecture hand-carved by local artisans, giving a palace feel to this boutique establishment. The beauty of our boutique traditional haveli is that each room is unique. With ornate carvings and sandstone walls, the beautiful and luxurious style will captivate you, leaving you enchanted by the magic of the “Golden City”.

We stayed here for a night, and had an early checkin (10 AM). We arrived at 6.30 AM and relaxed in the lobby and at the rooftop restaurant of the hotel. There was a spacious and clean washroom available to freshen up and breakfast was available from 7.30 AM. The rooms are beautiful and very well designed. The entire staff is helpful, courteous and hospitable. We booked a 2N/3D package directly with the hotel (contact: Maru Khan) which included one nigh at the hotel and one night at their desert camps, transportation (pickup and drop from station and airport), sightseeing (in the city and Kuldhara), breakfast, and a dinner at the desert camp.

We booked this hotel after much research since Jaisalmer does not seem to have a lot of fancy properties but Helsinki house was different.
Right from the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and the warmth of the staff showed. They helped us pick our bags and the check in was smooth.
The rooms were clean and the washrooms were clean too. Though the towels were unusable but it is anyway advised to not use the towels in the hotel and carry your own due to Covid. The rooms were equipped with room heaters and kettles and had hot running water. The view could have been better given that we booked the superior room but it wasn't too much of a concern. The property is just a few minutes of walk from the main road from where one can get the autos to visit various places. Though the approach road to the property was not clean.
What blew our minds away was the roof top restaurant overlooking the Jaisalmer fort. The tables and utensils were clean and the kitchen looked clean too. The food tasted so good and the staff arranged sweets from us from a a nearby shop.
The menus is crazy and they were happy to make anything that we wanted for dinner. the breakfast was a treat to the taste buds and the view just added to it.
One other important thing is that the property does not take card payments and relies only on cash/UPI which could be a deal breaker for some.
The stay was comfortable and we would definitely recommend people to book this place .

Helsinki Desert Camp including stay at the Swiss luxury tent was really enjoyable. Tents were big and clean. Food timings were slightly delayed, but not an issue. Our one-night stay at the Helsinki Hotel too was good. Any problem regarding the room/washroom was immediately addressed. Jaisalmer local city sightseeing by Auto Rickshaw and transportation to desert camp from the hotel and back were arranged at a reasonable cost. The last mile to reach the Hotel is a dirt road, so best reach before sunset. Not sure if the hotel has permit to serve liquor. You may want to find out if you are a tippler. We were 7 of us and had a wonderful time in Jaisalmer.

The best part about the hotel is undoubtedly the hotel management including the owner, who was ever ready to provide with all the assistance required during the stay. Highly recommend to experience a real havelli style lodging with vibrant rooms of different interiors. The rooftop restaurant had an unrestricted view of the main fort, which elevated our dinner and breafasf experience. Being at the edge of the lane, it was peaceful than all other hotels combined. They arranged the desert camp at sam sand dunes as well at their Helsinki desert camp at a reasonable rate which was all together on another level of fun. All in all, jaisalmer does have numerous hotels and havellis but what makes it worth staying at this property is the warm hospitality of the management which will make your time at the place feel like home.

Stayed for 3 nights with family. The first impression as we reached via a narrow lane was not so favorable. Hotel was at end of lane with marshy land in the back and road leading to hotel is not so good. Parking area is also not paved. We had booked Premium Rooms and for on 2nd floor. Rooms were huge, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was also large and very clean. Rooms and hotel were tastefully made and decorated. Hotel is owned and run by a young guy Maru and his brothers who have an excellent sense of hospitality. The location grew on us during our stay and it wasn't an issue, in fact we preferred it over being in a crowded area. It was also close to the old city and we could get auto rickshaw to go to the city as it was not preferable to take our own car in the narrow lanes of Jaisalmer. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and our interactions with Maru. Breakfast was included but due to it being a small hotel they prepared as per order and it took some time. Choice is limited but good was fresh and tasty. We ended up having dinners at the hotel only and though it took some time it was fresh and we enjoyed it. Hotel is reasonably priced, close to the city, comfortable, clean and all the staff is polite and helpful. It doesn't have a lobby or swimming pool and we didn't need that as we weren't in hotel most of the time. Highly recommended.

Eight of us started our Rajasthan tour in Jaisalmer. From the beginning, the management looked after us in an unobtrusive way. Our special requests, such as getting eight Indian SIM cards or the short-term opportunity to visit a special architectural desert school that is not on the standard visit program, were always dealt with quickly. The hotel rooms exceeded our expectations. In general, we found the design of the hotel with numerous local filigree stone carvings very appealing. We all liked the hotel's varied food very much.

The hotel is located away from the hustle and bustle and it is very quiet and cosy here. Surrounded by woods and from the roof terrace there is a good view of the fort. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated and very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the food on the roof terrace is very good and the breakfast is rich. The hotel is run by Ishan, who is very friendly and helpful and is available to answer any questions. All in all, this is a great place to stay and the price/performance ratio is absolutely top. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for 4 nights for the camel festival. The owner is lovely and very knowledgeable and helpful. Sadly the hotel was not as great as him. The beds were so noisy, there is building work going on next door and has animals at the back of the ground floor bedroom where we stayed. The food was hit and miss and the roof terrace which is a great feature needed a good clean.
So hopefully these issues will be dealt with and taken on board as helpful 🙏

Eight of us were given a warm welcome, our every wish was fulfilled and every question was answered immediately. This family-run hotel offers huge rooms, great beds, super service and fantastic cuisine. Built in the old style of the old town, wonderful stonework and beautiful fabrics in the clean rooms. Everything we wanted to see was made possible for us. Great, I'll come back anytime.
