Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We reached Jaisalmer on the night of a breezy October end, and we stayed at a hotel very close to Trikutgarh Fort, more popularly known as Sonar Kella (after Oscar winning director Satyajit Ray made a film on it in 1974). Built of sandstone, the colour is actually pale yellow-orangish, but when the sun is up, it looks golden. We toured the fort (the guides are good and they can speak in 2 or 3 languages), and bought several souvenirs from the shops inside the fort. There are almost 3,000 people residing inside the fort, and they make a living by selling local goods or food. There is a stone merchant named A. Tripathi who has a shop inside the fort, and he has a story to tell - he had relocated to Jaisalmer after watching Ray's film 'Sonar Kella' and has made a good fortune there.
Tourists can stay inside the fort too, provided bookings are made in advance.

The palace is built with single color stone. Its huge. but coukd have been maintained better.
The view of sunset and clouds... and the city will make it all worth in end. It welcomes you the moment you step in city, so you ought to see it, though not so woow.
it aint a hotel but a historic property.

Nothing to see in this fort but it's a part of history. They charged 100INR PP which isn't worth. It's nothing comparetative to Amber Fort. I don't think you need guide for this place but still if you go then paying 100INR to approved to guide not bad. It's need lot of cleaNing the smell of bat will make you hurry to get out from this palace n hot too. Though it's good for history lovers.

Only living fort in India. Must have all the facilities inside the Fort. Feel the ancient view, culture, sculpture and many more. Stay inside the fort will give you another feeling. Temples inside the fort are the best example of old Sculptures. Hotels and home stays gives you local feel. From Gun point you can view whole city at once and want to sit there for hours. Roof top restaurants are awesome. Must try their food. Highly recommended of each tourist and traveler to visit this place.
