Value
We welcome you to the far western desert city of Jaisalmer, the city with Fortress, desert, havelis and last but not the least the hospitality and welcoming charm of the local peoples. Hotel Shanti Home is a peaceful abode located just 100 meters from Jaisalmer Fort. The building itself is about 250 years old and belongs to a brahmin family who inhabited here for more than 10 generations. In year 2014-15 it has been totally renovated and converted into small boutique hotel with seven cozy rooms and two floor stunning rooftops. All the rooms are elegantly decorated with Jaisalmer style wooden furniture, local tapestries and also fitted with comfortable beds and clean washrooms. I Pratimesh Vyas welcome you to my inherited home in Jaisalmer and would love to host you in my home town.

Lala and Chimmy made us feel at home in their space, sharing local tips and offering great advice. They speak very good english. There is a very nice view of the fort from the top patio, and we enjoyed the homemade meals (breakfast included, lunch and dinner available with charge). It was quiet and the bed was really comfortable. More suitable for the non-party goers, as most of the guests are asleep by 11pm or earlier. The first night I stayed on the 2nd floor which was great. My friend came and we extended a night, moving up to the 3rd floor. The water pressure was a little lower and water temp was a little more challenging to adjust. They arranged an overnight camel safari for us, and we were able to return the next morning to collect our luggage and take a shower before heading to the airport which was nice. Great location for exploring Jaisalmer. Thank you for your hospitality! Overall would recommend for a relaxing stay.

This property is a 5 min walk away from the fort. The budget rooms are decent, with attached bathrooms. Their overhead boilers provide hot water in washrooms All day.
The owner and staff took care of us very well. Helped us arrange taxi transfers.
They have an exclusive desert camping package(not touristy), which we enjoyed. (Please do ask)
Property is fairly maintained, could improve on the cleanliness front.
P.S parking space fits one car, right in front of their property. Can get crammed during rush hours.

We are two backpackers used to cheap family homestays in India so Shanti home was above our average budget. I couldn’t tell you enough how much this extra money was worth it. The rooms are very clean, quiet and comfortable even if some only have windows on the corridor. The two brothers who run the place are extremely helpful and friendly. Both the rooftops give superb views over the city and the surrounding landscape. A perfect resting place !

I stayed at Shanti home for 2 days. It was an awesome experience staying here. We were provided with home made food which was freshly prepared and served. Authentic Rajasthani cuisine were also available. They guided us for near by tourist place visits.
5 star for the hospitality we received there. It was really home away from home :-) .
This place is near to Jaisalmer fort and nearby to other tourist places.
They arrange for desert safari also. It was also a great experience.
It was a night stay in desert with bed arranged below the open sky. It was really a rejuvenating experience.
Thanks chimmy and Lala ji for all your effort and help.

Unfortunately I had to cancel my visit to Shanti Home due to illness.
Their response was very understanding and forthcoming as in my case they charged nothing even while they could have done so.
Thank you Chimmy and staff.
I hope to visit Jaisalmer some other time.

This hotel did not disappoint! Often online fotos are deceiving but this hotel is just stunningly beautiful! The rooms, the sitting areas upstairs, even the reception area are very inviting. The hotel is very clean and owner/ staff are very friendly. Shampoo and soap are being provided. There are several charging ports for your electronics all around the property. It’s not a problem to leave your luggage and freshen up should you be travelling later in the day after checkout.
Everything was very good. Transport to and from the bus station can be arranged with the owners.
The hotel is in a very central location, sights are in easy walking distance.
Definitely a great place to stay here in Jaisalmer!

We had planned to have a pre wedding photoshoot in Jaisalmer. Nitesh was my photographer for the day...

Usually I plan my own itenary for any trip, but this time I let Nitesh to plan this for me. Had a wonderful experience last time I visited Rajasthan and this prompted me to have full faith in Marwari locals.

Nitesh suggested me this hotel and this was more of a homestay than a normal hotel . I immediately booked the best room in it with one of the cheapest price I could get in the center of the marketplace.

The hotel owner, Lalit was very welcoming to us with his staffs. We had a stay of 2 days and they were on their toes the whole time whenever we needed them.

The room was very well organised and hygienic . The food was fantastic, especially the pasta and kadhi chawal prepared by Lalit itself.. Lalit was very comforting towards us and the hospitality was top notch. They offered Jain foods as well and will be back someday with my family.

I would like to thank the whole management for organising such a nice getaway

Thanks

We met Lala the hotel manager by chance in the street and decided to stay at this hotel because he was so genuine and welcoming.

The room was very quiet compared to our previous hotel. The shower had never ending hot water! It was perfect after the desert Safari.

The food was also excellent and gives you a great taste of authentic Rajasthani food. Lala is great and I would trust him to make any arrangements for me!

Great little hotel with two choices for rooftop outdoor seating. Owner was extremely helpful and accommodating. Assistance was provided for walking tour of the city and if we hadn’t already booked our camel safari the hotel could have arranged that as well. Room was clean and comfortable.

The stay and hospitality are something that I will cherish forever. The hotel is located centrally and is merely walking distance to all places. A special shotput for the hosts Lalit Ji. I was traveling with my year-old kid and Lalit ji got up very early and prepared food for the kid which is something that many big hotels are missing. Loved his helpfulness.
Will recommend to anyone going to Jaisalmer to give it a try for sure (though they are reserved mostly but do try your luck).
