I have been here for over 2 years 3 trips and this place has just always been better than the last time. You have to be there to experience it. Not just that the place is done up so well, its also the gentle and nice people who work there that makes the difference. Excellent place for some good Ayurvedic...

Wow!!! This is a fantastic resort at the cliff in Varkala. Supernice cottages build according to vashtu shastu. I loved the interior and since I am interiordesigner myself I am a bit picky. The garden is so beautiful and relaxing with lots of hammocs to chill out in. As soon as you enter this place you can feel their concept...

Great atmosfere, beautifull decorated cottages, very friendly and serviceminded staff, great kitchen with organic food from there own garden. We travelled India for 2 months and after a lot of crappy accomodations, this really felt like coming home. We had a memorable and lovely stay here! Highly recomended for everyone who values good taste. Inge and Ruud, Amsterdam , Holland

Vasu runs an excellent yoga school. There are alot of yoga schools to choose from in varkala but if you are looking for a highly skilled friendly teacher in a lovely yoga shala then chose this one. The classes are great value and they have yoga mats you can borrow

I didn't stay at the Bohemian Masala as it was a little pricey, but I experienced all of the other facilities on offer. Having just come from the Sivananda ashram in Neyyar Dam, I was eager to continue with my daily yoga classes and Vasudev (the teacher at the BM) didn't disappoint. His classes were excellent - Sivananda based with...

I go to Varkala every year for a few days and always stay in this lovely peaceful garden in a cool and most tasteful and comfortable hut, made of stamped earth and deccorated with tribal paintings and silk sarees. I go to yoga with the great teacher Vasudev, have masages in the very cosy little ayurvedic center by Soma. After...

We started a Yoga course which I also highly recommend. I am not the sort of person to write reviews, infact, this is the first review I've ever written.

My friends actually stayed here, but I was able to hang out for a day. Here are my impressions: November/December is virtually empty, except for lots of local birds, mosquitos and other critters, and a super-duper sweet staff. The weather is perfect then, too. They do provide mosquito nets and fans, but you might want to have some repellant of...

This place is stunning. Mud huts clean and spacious, bathroom spotless. Grounds gorgeous. Walk out the back and your on the cliff top. However..... We booked in November and website Advertised a restaurant, Ayurvedic team and wifi. On arrival no restaurant but on our first morning they started building the restaurant behind our hut, very noisy. We were told the...

I stayed here in Feb 2012 and I still dream about this place. It is by far the best place I stayed in while traveling through Varkala and highly recommend it anyone that is heading to Kerala. The bungalows are beautiful, situated within a garden oasis. There are also plenty of hammocks and lounge areas around the premise to chill...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It's another world, the Varkala beach resort. Built around the eco-concept, it borrows its architecture from the natural science of the tribals. The handmade cottages made with mud, clay and flowers ensure maximum natural energy air flow, translate that into cool even during summer. In the midst of a thick green cover, and a 5-minute walk from the cliffs and the beach, V Resorts Bohemian Masala stands apart from the other beach resorts in Varkala. The resort promising all the sensual pursuits of a traveller, such as traditional temples, beaches, an eclectic food scene, as well as Ayurvedic massages, is ideal for a peaceful, tranquil vacation. Lounge around in the hammocks in peace and quiet, sample the traditional Kerala fare, walk around its herb and spice garden, or just sit around and meet interesting travellers from across the world. Those times, when you do feel like a walk, step out and hit the beach, indulge in water sports, or try your skills at surfing. ... more   less
