I had the best local experience, in a wonderful antic house in a peaceful location. The hosts are a exeptional couple, she is the best cooker and he is a man of culture, versed in so many topics that I lost the time notion on our chat. Their english is excelent. I had a unique aproach to local Kerala culture... More

Maya heritage has such a relaxed yet atmospheric feeling about it - if you were a writer, it's the sort of place where you'd want to write a novel. It is an old and impeccably maintained property with lots of established trees all around it. Although only for one night, it was probably the most relaxing night we spent in... More

The Maya Heritage was included in a package of our trip through Eco Trails Kerala. We collectively agreed it was the highlight. The family were incredible cooks. The property owner Vinod joined us for a morning walk that gave as an intimate view of village life, and provided his in depth and informed perspective. The village residents, especially children were... More

What a brilliant location. I didnt stay here but visited the property which has a definite period feel to it. Loved the fruit trees around the house and the river close at hand. Extremely scenic and isolated from the tourist buzz of Kumarakom!

We stayed at the Maya Heritage house with our extended family for the New Year. We had a bit of trouble finding it. The manager was nice enough to meet us on the main road and lead our van to where the house was located. The house itself was beautiful with many western amenities. It was well kept and clean....
