This charming hotel has been restored from the remains of a ship building yard. Colonial paraphernalia adorn the interiors. Loved the 'pankhas' or hand-drawn fans in the reception lobby. The Armoury Cafe sit-out is perfect for enjoying the sea breeze and watching harbour life. The History Restaurant features food from all the different communities living in Kochi. The food is...

The night we checked in, we had an issue with the lack of hot water in the shower. Complaining at 11 PM did nothing. However, the next day, the hot water was back. Their breakfast seems limited going by the spread but the trick is to ask the staff for whatever you want to eat. They, usually, could provide us...

This is a sympathetic conversion of an historic building at the heart of Fort Kochi, the old part of Cochin. As such it works very well as a hotel, offering a delightful ambience away from the busyness outside its gates. Staff are very helpful and attentive though the young women in saris at reception and around the hotel could perhaps...

It's been a while since I've been on Tripadvisor but I decided I had to check back in to leave a review about the Brunton Boatyard. In the heart of atmospheric Fort Kochi and steps from the Kochi Biennale (if that's your bag) as well as the Chinese fishing nets -- Brunton was everything we could have wished for. All...

I stayed across the road from here but my friend and I ate here whenever we could. The walled entrance seems imposing and its was with some trepidation that we left an inferior establishment directly across the road to enter The Brunton Boatyard. We still felt slightly like we were cheating some system as we strolled up the steps and...

Such a grand hotel, we would have loved to stay there but it was fully booked. Instead, we had great meals at the History Restaurant over Christmas. Service was perfect and attentive. Had 3 private cooking sessions, thank you Chef Ajeeth and his team for sharing such fantastic time and knowledge. It is the highlight of my trip! A special...

Difficult to fault. Delightful place, very good food, staff charming, lovely views over the water, clean, everything worked, the place to stay in Cochin. Would go back tomorrow. Area around the hotel interesting if, like lots of India, a bit grubby but still some sights well worth seeing.

This hotel turned out to be exactly what it said on the box. Nothing was hidden in previous reviews or even hotels web site. After the quietness of the interior waterways it was welcome to see some life and there is plenty of that. The bird life and dolphins and boats floating past are a joy. Yes it is noisy...

We had Christmas night here, and were upgraded to a beautiful suite with a view of the boats. We loved our stay here, with fantastic food, great live music, lovely staff and gorgeous facilities - separate toilet and kitchenette as well as living and dining area. A peak experience.
