Place is too expensive for the price. As a mangalorean have been to this place several times. This resort has close proximity to the beach. Food is just okay. There are many other resorts around mangalore that have more to offer for much lesser price. Would not recommend this place to anyone unless you have too mych money to waste

Stayed for the weekend in November with family. The 2 room villa is a nice option. Good amenities and good food. Not too many activities for small children - the sand pit could be improved. The resort is near the sea, but the beach is not really accessible. The service is good, and place is calm, peaceful and very green.

Basically the owners are running this resort and looks they are not for improving the status of the resorts with regard to safety of the customer though they charging very heavy tariffs and no proper lightings outside the rooms and no proper lights @ the so called paths to restaurant during the night and I have noticed a snake in...

Needs some urgent maintenance of villas and friendly front office staff. A/c and most part of villa facilities are in dismal state. Even the pool needs some maintenance. The beach is just a few steps from the property. It is quite deep and can not venture out.

Though it is family run but it's a professionally resort. It's a great get away for a relaxing holiday. Food was great too and was very reasonably priced. Beach though could have been better but since its a very steep beach its not advisable to go in the beach during the rainy seasons.

This is a place that we've been going to since 1997. Over the years, it has undergone some changes and renovation but the essence of the place has remained intact. A bunch of cottages/villas in the midst of a coconut plantation, with a little garden and porch in front of each villa. The sound of the sea. Fishing boats drawn...

I have stayed at many resorts so to pay around 17000 for a villa in Mangalore is definitely expensive. First the good part, great food - every dish we ordered was superb so full marks for the chef. Well maintained swimming pool so water was safe for kids to swim too. Good courteous staff at restaurant though lazy at the...

I have visited this place twice in the last 2 years for leisure purpose. The place is serene and secluded. Must visit place for beach lovers. The quality of food is also great. Breakfast buffet is the highlight for me. Perfect place to spend a long weekend with family or friends. The quality of rooms and service is also good....

Summer Sands has evolved to be what it is today... The place was not created unlike the big properties... It's been built year by year and improvised over a period of time... The entire property is surrounded with greens on which if you walk gives your feet a wonderful massage... You can see Fishing Liners around... Sea is Deep and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A 15 acre resort, with a 1000 running foot of beach, 42 spacious villas reminiscent of the British Era, but what entrances you as you enter the garbled gate is the sheer greenery of the place. The Terracotta villas, 500 palms and the 60 odd varieties of birds nesting in the resort make it a peaceful paradise. Children enjoy the Palm fringed fresh water swimming pool and the surrounding peace park and the large open areas with little fish ponds abounding with kois and goldfish to play and find friends. Summer Sands also has excellent conference facilities and the right ambiance. ... more   less
