The place was fine, clean and well located. After hearing many stories about accommodation in India, this hotel was completely the opposite. the staff was fine, service was fine and the rates were very decent.

This place has something very wrong with it, so many staff, but when you order something (even when written down) it comes wrong or doesnt come at all. This place has so many problems, but I enjoyed my stay here for some odd reason! I wouldnt reccomend it, but If i return to gurgaon, I would probably stay here again!

The reason we chose the Diplomat is that it had a decent write up on the Guardian website and is located in a good Delhi suburb. My friend also recommended the Olive Beach restaurant in the hotel. My advice - pay a little extra and get a 5 * or just go for a middle of the range 3* which...

I travel extensively for work and have stayed in the best and worst of hotels. That being said, this is one of the worst hotel experiences of my life from a service perspective. The hotel had the wrong dates upon check in and then questioned the validity of a print out confirmation that we received from them with the correct...

I'd rather sleep on the streets of Delhi than check into this hotel. Extremely rude staff made the experience terrible. On occasions my friends and I were called to ask if we had taken the pen we had used to check in with. The worst though, was a staff walking straight into my room without knocking while me and my...

I would pick this Hotel...

Reading others' reviews reminded me of my stay at this hotel about four years ago. It sounds as though things haven't changed much. A colleague in New Delhi booked my room at what he said was an attractive rate. Although the location has its merits - if you need to visit any of the embassies, it's a modest walk -...

well if you know delhi, you'll know that there are few quality options outside of the 5 star hotels. From my experiences hotels in india seem to go from 5 star staright down to one star and below, without any in between. The diplomat is in a good location, its quiet and the rooms are spacious. The restaurant is very...

Despite having cancelled my booking in good time through Expedia, and despite Expedia having faxed the cancellation to the Diplomat, this hotel debited the full amount for a night's stay from my credit card. 3 months later I am still waiting for the refund.

Its a horrible, dingy, nasty little place. Book into the Imperial....you only live once.
