For me, Diu is synonymous to the Hoka Island Villa. Its a nice, little colourful place. Everything about it is so appealing. Well, it isnt like one of those conventional hotels. It offers you everything that a 5 star hotel doesn't. The artistic flavour in which this little place is decorated is purely classy. The restaurant "Cats' Eye View" is...

Dear Bushra M, Always wonderful to receive 5 stars. And to have someone describe the Hoka in the way you have is even much more so! Thanks. As you observe yes we are not the conventional type of hotel & strive to offer what a lot of other holiday destinations should; a friendly space. Aesthetics & cleanliness & basic comforts...

Great staff and food, with plenty of choices for veg or not. Nice cold beer and friendly helpful service. Good clean rooms and very peaceful setting away from crowds. Short walk to beach and other restaurants. Nagoa beach was busy but there are nicer ones not far away. We found Joy Bar in the city, 8kms away, a medical shop...

Dear Jenny C, Thank you for describing our place with appreciation & we are very happy to know that you enjoyed your stay in Diu. Yes Diu is among the few remaining gems on the indian travel circuits...though probably heading in the wrong direction as too many lovely places have done in the past. Best avoided during busy festival times...

A nice little quaint place to stay with personal touch from the staff. Really enjoyed my stay here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Though the restaurant menu is very limited but food tastes really good. Location wise the place is very close to Nagoa beach, a very walkable distance. Would sure like to visit again.

The hotel rooms were very clean and they sent housekeeping to clean twice . Liked the balcony option in first floor but unfortunately on opening door there is a bad stink of fish so it was a turn off . I chose this hotel as the other famous resorts were sold out for the holiday weekend. The staff are extremely...

Dear loverhodeisland, thank you for describing & appreciating the plusses of our hotel & writing a review. It was a pleasure to have you stay with us. Even though Diu is a fairly large fishing trawler port; the smell of fish is indeed very rare. And especially so around the hotel or Nagoa beach; which are not close to any...

The destination, Diu, is like a fairytale. Beautiful and non-commercialised beaches, not very crowded and a very friendly local populace. The Resort Hoka epitomises the spirit of Diu. Extremely homely and comfortable at a fantastic location. The very feel of the Villa is enchanting. The staff is extra courteous. The food leaves you craving for more even when your tummy...

It was my first visit to Diu and my husband had planned the visit. He asked me if i wanted to stay at a comfortable hotel(there are no 5 stars in Diu) or a cute, feel-good place. I chose the latter, always do. So this villa, named after cluster trees which are found only in Diu in India, was a...

Dear Swatimitts, Glad you chose us over the others & then felt it was the right choice. Your description: 'The most sensible accommodation in Diu'..we think is apt as it does describe the Hoka villa quite well. At least in its category. Once again very glad that you enjoyed your stay & appreciated us for what we actually are! Regards...

We went to The Hoka Island Villa last year in Monsoon. There is nothing line Diu in this weather. The dining area looks fabulous in the night with bright colors and yellow lights. The rooms are clean, AC was a little late to react, but the weather being cool, didnt have any issue. The hotel serves some awesome food in...

Dear Nishanant, We agree with you about Diu in the monsoons. The island turns green & the foliage receiving their annual wash has a charm of its own. The sea is off course rougher & brown with its churned waters; but thats a welcome & revealing sight by itself; the way nature presents itself during this time! Usually the rains...

Stayed at this resort with family in May'16. It's in a quiet corner of Diu, a short walk away from Nagoa beach. The rooms are a bit small, but homely and comfortable. Dear prakashmangalore, Your review is just the kind that fellow tourists/travellers need to read whilst deciding/researching for a Diu visit! We wish that the tourism departments & the various e-travel sites, including those such as mkmytrip, gobibo, etc, etc., wrote informative data & websites; that better informed travellers. Rather than posting coffee table photos with little research on the destination....
