We have only been going to The Gambia 4 years , we have had 7 visits and I wouldn’t go without all necessary precautions, and certainly wouldn’t advise anyone else to, sorry but you can’t put a price on your life ! Malaria is not something want you want to be getting.
On our first visit we contacted our local Health centre and spoke to a nurse who went through everything we needed, from the vaccinations to malaria tablets, she also advised we look on Nathnac for latest information on the country we are visiting ,
The Gambia was described to us like marmite you either love it or hate it , we love it .

Hi i took my washing to to the maids just inside the gate of hotel they washed it but not ironed it lol they took it straight from line . I would bring a travel iron with you we did. Just give them a few dalasis they are grateful for what they get. Make sure you do not get a room in the Block you want either the superior room its like a little chalet bungalow but got plenty of room Theirs abit of a walk from the hotel out to the main entrance gate . Its alovely place to stay very friendly and clean.
