Stay-cooking (-kitchen) very well equipped, the room (chamber) very comfortable double bed with wall TV, terrace covered with hammock and view of the flowery garden. At arrangement (measure) of the customers: swimming pool, Transatlantic race, Carbet equipped with 2 hammock and ventilator, TVSAT, WIFI, washing machine, table and iron, hesitates for luggage, private parking lot was closed by automatic gate with remote control. The Amaranth is a non-smoking site. You will benefit from a personalized, warm and friendly welcome (reception) in a charming frame (executive) there.

The place is more than nice. I spent there almost 8 weeks and I felt very homy which is very important for me. The owners keep the house very clean and always maintain the inside / outside. The parking is safe as it has automatic gates. I stayed in a green studio by the pool. The room was clean and had a fridge. The kitchen outside had all the possible supplies. The pool was always super clean as the owners cleaned it every single day. The hammocks were super comfy after a working day. Thank you for the pleasent stay Jean and Evelyne! I will definitely come back to Amarante!

Stayed here in July. The room was clean and quite comfortable. This is a sort of homestay with 2 apartments in the backyard and several rooms. We didn't come by car. Upon arrival we were told by the owner that "in Kourou you are dead without a car", quite true actually. However we didn't have a car and were not helped in finding a solution. Fortunately a very friendly neighbour drove us around and showed us the supermarket was 15-20 minute walk. After ending up at Mc Donalds we decided to leave the next morning. The owner became very attentive after our notice of leaving early, and arranged a reservation at the space center and transport (a ride with other guests who did have a car), furthermore she offered to drive us to and from other activities. We found this oppurtunistic, for we were completely left to ourselves upon arrival. We ended up staying for a second night because we were unsure we could take a bus to Cayenne in the afternoon (the owner was completely unaware of any public transport options and times and places of departure). The next day we were left to walk 25 minutes in de blistering sun (with our bags) to the bus station that was a mere 2 minute drive away (there were no guests at that time, we could/should have been offered a ride, but as mentioned we were only offered rides when we said we wanted to leave early, so as to extend our stay). All in all we felt the owner was a bit oppurtunistic in offering her help. The breakfast consists of only bread and jam and was finished at 9, even though is would take absolutely no extra time (it was just two plates, 1 baguette and 3 jars of jam in the backyard) to extend it till 10 and leave a little extra rest for the guests. And oh, don't mind the little frogs and critters in the bedroom, "this is Kourou"!…

This is an excellent option in Kourou. It is very nice and affordable accommodation. There are two very comfortable rooms: blue and green. My husband and I stayed in green one, and it has very modern lounge, bedroom up the stairs and very nice and clean bathroom. I felt like being at home again, after traveling through South America for a long time, it was very nice feeling clean and safe again. There is also kitchenette outside that you can share with other room and garden with jakuzzi. It is close to the supermarkets and town's restaurants, as well as to the pier from which boats for prisoner's islands leave. If you want clean and nice accommodation where you can relax for couple of days this is the perfect place.
