Fijian staff are super friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is simple but nice with good variety. Resort maintenance and room cleanliness needs to improve. Housekeeping needs to pay attention to detail. Included activities offered are good. Pool area is nice. Location is 10 mins to Rakiraki town. Driveway for 3 bedroom villa needs to be fixed as it always skids and if it rains, you will not get up the driveway!

Stayed here for a night. Since our stay was during the low season, accommodation rate was reasonable.

This is a nice Resort with good potential but our stay was somewhat disappointing.

Upon check a gentleman accomponied us to our Vila and started doing a Inventory and then had me sign off on it. I do not recall ever having to do this at any other Resort/Hotel.

The Villas are layered on a Hillside. There was construction going on uphill from our Villa. The Construction workers could look into our bathroom as there were no coverings on the Bathroom Window. Construction work also started at about 7am on the Sunday morning which was really annoying. We were not informed of the ongoing construction work when we booked our stay.

The bedding had a stale and dirty smell but bedding was replaced upon request.

The Accomodation rate includes Continental Breakfast. The breakfast actually is a small buffet of cooked breakfast and has scrammbled eggs, lamb sausages, toast, cereals and fresh fruit with tea/coffee. Unfortunately the breakfast (eggs and sausages) was cold.

The staff were friendly. Vila is spaciaous and the queen bed was comfortable.

Giving 3 Stars as the issues we faced can easily be rectified if the Management wants to.

Amazing staff ❣
We were there to celebrate a birthday and were not very happy with the costs of the swimming pool especially when we have been to other escorts where we can get to enjoy the pool when we spend a lot on food. But here, we have to pay extra.... we were very disappointed to see this and the amazing really did a good job to recover the service with a complimentary drink for the birthday girl and a "Happy Birthday" song ❣

Vinaka vakalevu... I know that with the extra costs, you will upgrade and the roads will be better in the near future.

A beautiful resort, but very badly managed. The staff are friendly but have no idea what is going on. These were our main issues while staying at DuaDua:

The pool was out of service the entire time we were there and there was no answer as to when it would open, even after inquiring at the front reception each day. We were offered to be taken by boat to the beach on the nearby island and when we were ready to go, we were told it would be a $60 transportation fee per person without being told in advance and there were 7 of us. We were not able to use the pool because it was still out of service, despite being told it would open at 2pm the day prior. The management did compensate us for the transportation to the island after we expressed our disappointment in not being able to swim, so that was nice and the least they could do.

Poor housekeeping. Our room was "cleaned" with only the bed made up. Towels were not replaced, even after calling down 3 times. We also had to ask for more soap and shampoo. If housekeeping is making up the room, then they need to consider these things instead of guests having to call for every little thing. It is annoying and frustrating and that is not the level of service we were expecting when paying so much money to stay at this resort. The room also had a hornet and many large cockroaches that were flying around and coming out of nowhere. The bedsheets had stains on them. When getting into bed at night and pulling the sheets, there was red stains around where your head was supposed to be. This goes back to poor housekeeping, as this had to be noticed when changing the sheets but was obviously ignored.

The continental breakfast included was a disgrace. Because the entire resort was booked out, they ran out of food in the morning and when asked about replenishment, we were told everything was done and that we "should have come earlier" when we were there at 9:30am and breakfast was to end at 10:30am. If they know the resort is full, then they need to have enough for all guests until the time the breakfast ends. In terms of ordering from the bar/restaurant area, which we did for lunch when we first arrived, the restaurant food was not good and expensive. The food was bland and cold with no flavour. Much of it was not eaten and wasted because it was not good quality.

There are signs everywhere about being charged for this and that, all for nickle and diming the guests.

Overall, it was an okay experience, mainly because of the beautiful views, but I wouldn't stay there again due to staff not being properly trained, slow service and poor management. We really liked John, the porter, who was very apologetic and tried his best to make things right, so we did appreciate that.

We had to drive through a narrow and rocky path located between two sugar cane fields to get to the resort. At first we thought we got the wrong directions. During our check-in, we were told that she can't find our reservation. She looked several times but couldn't find it. I showed her receipts and all booking related details. Then she suggested that we call Expedia to cancel and rebook through them. She said same thing happened to a couple the day before and they were successfully canceling w/ Expedia and booked directly w/ them. We insisted on her sorting it out with Expedia since we have already paid. Then miraculously she found our booking in her email. (We believe Expedia takes a chunk of their room fee since they gave us a statement showed how much the resort received from Expedia.) The check-in lady said since the booking wasn't in their own booking system so the room was not prepared. We had to wait while they clean the available room. After a long wait, we got our room. We were able to park the car next to the unit ('villa'). Their door did not have a dead bolt from the inside which is strange. Anyone with a key card can come in. And the joint door was blocked by a small trash bin w/ a lock from our side. The room was a little noisy from nearby units. Next morning, we packed up the car and drove to dining area just to be safe. Breakfast in the morning was basic. As for the scenery, there was no beach. Just say we were glad we only booked one night and looked forward to our next destination. We also had unexplained small bug bites.

Basically you are too far away from other dining options so you are stuck with their over-priced oil soaked meals, which were more expensive than some of the meals we had in top restaurants in Suva. The only item on the menu that was edible from our 3 attempts at dining was the kokoda, but even this wasn't great compared to the kokoda we had elsewhere in Fiji. The internet is really good, which is the only redeeming feature of this property. We primarily came here to do snorkelling and take their day trips, which I tried to book the night before but was told to just be at the boat in the morning. That night the walls were so thin we could hear the female in the room next to us snoring and every word said by her partner asking her if she knew she was snoring. This was comical initially but really disrupted our sleep, but we thought the snorkelling would make this all worthwhile. We went to the boat and waited in the morning but nobody came so we went to reception and were then told the Captain of the boat was out of town and won't be back for three days. We were also told the standby driver of the boat is unavailable also. The area is particularly windy as well, and is really exposed so the kayaking option isn't really an option in reality. I had booked two nights, and asked for a refund on the second night as we literally only came to snorkel but was told no refunds. Life is too short to stay in places like this so we literally called a taxi and went straight to the Grand Hotel in Suva, which was an expensive decision but one of the better decisions I have made in my life to date. In summary, this is the last place you want to stay at in Fiji.

After booking 2 nights ppreaid, and being unable to get to Dua Dua because of flooding, we arrived on the second night prepaid. Dua Dua refused to accept our booking (already paid for) and could only offer us a room for over $500 a night. They did assure us that we would be refunded the full amount that we had paid. Great, we were 2 pension age ladies with nowhere else to sleep. Had to drive through to Suva in storm conditions. Fiji hospitality a joke unless youre paying over the odds!!!!!

Despite friendly staff, good location, OK pool (although the weird ugly massive fountain/sandcastle thing spoiled the view a bit), the overall experience was disappointing and frustrating. We arrived late at night and the security guard was the only one there to let us in. The door card didn't work so he had to climb over the balcony to let us in. Despite confirming ahead of time that there were five of us, the sofa bed for the fifth person was not made up and we were forced to salvage some sheets from the other beds to make do until the next day, and there were only four pillows in the room. Despite having a fridge and microwave, there were no plates or utensils. The sofa bed was of poor quality and very uncomfortable. We also didn't have water to the room for about a third of our stay, meaning we had no access to a shower and had to use the toilets by the restaurant. The shower handle came off when we went to use it. The aircon remote stopped working. The breakfasts were average - the fruit was cut very small and not very abundant for a tropical resort. A $10 seasonal fruit salad and ice cream consisted of tinned fruit. When we ordered lunch we had to wait for 1 and 3/4 hours until we received our food, with no communication, and missing one of the dishes. We were subsequently told it is best to order ahead. The staff did their best to rectify our issues, but the owners who were not there had to be consulted by phone to get permission to offer us a (very small) discount, and we got the impression the owners were only concerned about money, and had no desire to ensure guests were happy and had a good experience. When asking for a further discount at the end for all the inconveniences, they had the audacity to tell the staff not to let us leave until we had paid the $229 left on our account (we had already paid $2900 for the accommodation). Not recommended!

I was there with family to use the pool a week ago. They charged $18 per child ($8 towards the use of the pool and $10 goes towards the food). Ordered the food and paid the difference, however were not allowed to use hot water from the urn. I was told by the restaurant staff that they can spare a cup of hot water but will have to pay if we wanted more. Not sure what they are going to start charging for next. Would not recomend due to ridiculours charges they come up with.

The worst ever place to be, went with a family of 8 pax, ordered entrees and drinks, informed the staff goin for a walk and back to order main course, the staff cleared tables, we returned and sat to order, we were given menus and cutlery, after 5 mins when we were ready to order at 8.36pm, the staff comes in and says that the Chef has closed the kitchen so we can't order, the worst things was that it was my family's were all hungry but they still could not take orders because the chef had closed the kitchen, what a perfect service provided. Never ever retuning back to the worst service resort. Do not recommend, if you are hungry and want to relax and enjoy dinner with family make sure to call and Ask Tanoa hotel, they will be be very happy to wait for you and open the kitchen for you..
Pathetic service ever..
