Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We read really bad reviews about this place here and decided will go check the options ourselves. The place is lighten and clean, rooms are that big but you get your own hot water shower. The fan room (not a/c) is good enough, and you have many sitting areas around the motel.
The complimentary breakfast is very lacking you get 2 toasts and boiled egg, we didn't go for it the the second day.
The location is excellent, really close to some nice and affordable restaurants.
Simply put best value in Savusavu and probably one of the best bang for buck in Fiji.

Paid $85 for the same room I rented for $70 the previous year. No fridge in room. In the town and close to all markets and restaurants. All rear exits were locked at 10pm. Means in case of fire at the front you get cooked. Breakfast, included in the room price was supposed to be from 7am to 9am. Nothing till 8:15am, except a sleepy looking cleaner who declared that she was waiting for the "guy' to turn up to open the kitchen and the rear of the hotel. An expensive flaslight went missing from the room. When equired, admin blamed one of the cleaners.

Affordable and nice place to stay in Savusavu, nearby shops and restaurants.
We stayed in fan room (60 fjd) which is quite small but does the thing; bed, table on wall, one chair, closet, bathroom and balcony (overlooking next business, no table or chair).
Breakfast included.

The lodge is quite old, not even sure who is the manager, as the front desk is always empty. Rooms cost varies depending on the facilities offered in each room. Each room comes with its own private bath, I would probably recommend it for travelers who are on a budget and those who do not wish to spend more than a day in Savusavu. The lodge is centrally located in Savusavu Town and right next to a nightclub, don't expect to have an early and peaceful night in the weekend.

Showed up without a booking and got fan room. A bit shabby but clean and OK at a good budget price. The best thing is the view from the upstairs veranda over the harbor mooring area and steam vents. A good place to watch local life in the early evenings. Nice Chinese restaurant nearby, Breakfast basic but does the job.

Sadly in need of renovation (possibly demolition). Close to an uninsulated or soundproofed nightclub so don't expect much sleep on weekend nights. Beds are aged, fittings are dodgy, plumbing is living dangerously. Used to be the cheapest on town but is no longer yet there has been nothing offered in the price hike.

No receipt , no booking conditions, no customer service. My friends were not happy with the room and only 50% refund was offered after I paid for their room, booked late in the afternoon for that night.
The place was empty ! A little kindness and flexibility goes along way to ensuring repeat customers.

Most of us can relate to the desire to make a quality hotel our home. We all know the sinking feeling as our stay comes to a close; we’ve all had those I-can’t-believe-this-is-our-last-night moments. We love Savusavu lodge because we’re pampered by the staff, and quality hotels and resorts make us feel like royalty.

We associateSavusavu Lodge with some of the best experiences in our lives. They are part of those vacations we take to exotic places, historic cities and beachfront communities.

When we arrived there early in the morning after a 12 hour-ferry-ride nobody knew from our booking that I have done by email just a few days before and someone confirmed my booking.
So the first thing was that they said: sorry we are full, no room! Propably just because the have been to lazy to clean the room.
After a short discussion we were allowed to stay.
The rooms are pretty dark and small but not too bad.
Unfortunately the nightmare began in the evening: the whole bed was full of bedbugs. Horrible!
After telling to another guy at the reception, who was friendly, we could change the room where we had different mattresses.
During our stay we could observe that they also dont change the sheets between different guests. Disgusting.
I wouldnt go there again.
Unfriendly and dirty!
