We returned to Savasi Island Resort this year for Christmas, after visiting a couple years ago. We wondered if our second visit would be as magical as the first and it surpassed our expectations! It was a full house at Christmas, but at times it felt like we were the only ones

Don't let the humble sign at the entrance discourage you: Savasi Island Resort is the peak of luxury. I'll walk through my rave reviews of the room, the grounds, the activities, the staff, meals, and the few extremely minor spots for possible improvement. Room: We stayed in Blue

My husband and I fell in love with Savasi Island Resort and can’t wait to return to the private, beautiful, peaceful, and unique location where we recently got married. We were immediately welcomed at the small Savusavu Airport by a Savasi staff member, who helped load our

Our wonderful stay at Savasi started with a greeting by our driver at the tiny Savusavu airport and then a hearty "Welcome Home" when we arrived at the resort. They really know how to welcome you - a briefing about the resort was followed by a luscious coconut foot bath at the

Long post w/multiple questions... my apologies but you have to understand the background. Almost 30 days before our trip begins on April 28-30, 2018 at Tokoriki Resort, we were going to spend the remaining 7 nights at Vomo island; a 5* Resort with gorgeous soft white sand beaches and clear not rocky water to die for. Some of the rooms aren’t as nice as Savasi, but the island location and reviews of how great Vomo is is what mattered to us more. We just found out that Vomo is starting construction the day after we arrive working on the adult pool (that was supposed to be built by now :( and 2 addt’l beach houses -amazingly big w/the wow factor). My traveling companion just finished major construction at her house so the last thing we want to see on our very expensive 1st time to FIJI tropical paradise vacation is construction equipment even if we didn’t somehow hear it. And they are only offering discounts to people in the houses closest even though the only adult bar on the island sits right next to the pool being built. So we reached out to our travel agent and they came back with an amazing offer to stay at Savasi. I am grateful* but also worried because of the different type of sand and the rocks that could be in the water, and then I keep hearing about sea lice (bad reaction to it) and if I can’t go in the ocean, then what’s the point? 1st Q: did anyone who stayed at Savasi get Sea Lice? I’m hopeful that I can get something that protects us either way. 2nd Q-is there enough activities we can do since we can’t do some of the ones we originally planned like Cloudbreak, castaway Island, daily snorkeling to different locations? 3rd Q-how did some of you get offered an upgrade? *we very much appreciate Savasi accommodating our request at a months notice, incl. an upgrade for 4 of the 7 nights(we’re going to be in the wonderful Blue Lagoon 2 for 4 nights and then move to BL1 for 3 nights; going from a huge 2 bedroom with incredible water views to a much smaller 1 bedroom). I read other people have been upgraded to the waterfall room & I told my travel agent we would pay, but she said this all Savasi has, despite their website showing that the Beachhouse is available. With the Stay 7/Pay 5 promo, we are willing to pay if necessary. What are our chances of being upgraded our last 3 nights or them letting us pay to stay in a larger/nicer accommodation 5/4-5/7? again, we are super appreciative of their help thus far ... but I’d rather start in the small room and end in the big room. (especially since we’re not a couple). Q4-will we need a car now to hopefully utilize some of the other hotels activities for things like motorized watersports? Thank you for all suggestions!
Hi Redlight4, Thank you for your questions and interest in Savasi Island. In regards to the beach and tides - Savusavu is not the Mamanuca's, so it is true you cannot expect mile-long, white sand beaches. We have lovely smaller, sandy and private beaches, tucked between some very beautiful and dramatic volcanic rock, as another poster mentioned. It is a very unique landscape, and a special part of Fiji. We are also in a tidal area, so yes, the tide will go out every day, exposing the reef and rock pools. This is a perfect time to explore and discover the various local sea life. Our location also makes it a prime destination for scuba diving and snorkelling - so you don't have to leave the island to see some remarkable corals and fish. A car is not necessary at Savasi, we provide complimentary private airport transfers, and private transport anywhere you need to go, whether you want to visit the local town, explore a local waterfall, or venture further around the Vanua Levu mainland. There is a lot to keep you occupied right on the island, however, such an kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, herbal walking tours, fishing, cooking classes, volleyball, cultural activities, local entertainment, traditional kava ceremony and more. If the snorkelling at Savasi doesn't satisfy you, you can join our scuba dive boat daily and free of charge, to see some of the surrounding reefs that are accessible within 15 or 20 mins from the resort. Both Blue Lagoon Bure One, and Blue Lagoon Bure Two have excellent water views. They overlook the exact same vantage point. I also want to clarify we have not heard about sea lice at Savasi, nor about guests having a bad reaction. The water is very much safe and swimmable. I hope this helps answer some of your queries and we can welcome you to Savasi Island in 2018. Kind regards, Marina Savenkov Savasi Island Resort

Thank you all for your contributions! Confirming we do not have a common pool, however all villas have a private pool, with the exception of the Beach House. The previously plunge-size pools in Blue Lagoon Bure One and Three were increased in size in May. We also have a number of small beaches where you can snorkel and swim at high tide, including right below Blue Lagoon Bure Three. At low tide the rock pools and reef are exposed. As others have mentioned we also have a large marina suitable for swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding at any time.

Hi Stephen. We have a number of beaches dotted around the island. They are not assigned to particular villas. You can move around to enjoy different beaches - we are still quite a small resort, so privacy is easy to find.
