Without doubt one of our favorite places we stayed during our time in Fiji! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the hosts. The staff was extremely friendly, the restaurant very flexible and the restaurant cook Michele deserves a special thanks. It's a true sample of excellent hospitality.

We came from New Zealand and stayed for 4 nights.
This is a small and beautiful resort where you will be very well cared for by owners Margaret and Luigi along with the entire friendly staff at La Dolce Vita.
We had fun playing on the picturesque golf course Luigi has created
Swimming in the pool and lagoon, relaxing in the many areas provided
The food created by Michelle was a treat, delicious meals with a different theme every night, served with fresh produce.
Our villa looking out over the reef was comfortable and beautifully clean. It provided us with everything we needed.
Prices are so reasonable with breakfast and dinner included.
We Recommend contacting Margaret directly to check availability and to book your stay.

The La Dolce Vita family is thrilled to read that our guests have enjoyed their time with us. Michelle puts a lot of love and care into meal preparation and presentation, working with whatever fresh fruit and produce that’s available on the property, or the market and is always appreciative of the recognition. The halters that you kindly donated were very excitedly accepted by young horse owners in Naweni and Dromuninuku Villages, relatives of our housekeeping team. I’m expecting to be able to pass on photos in the next few days. Luigi and I are very happy you chose to holiday with us and look forward to welcoming you again.

We had a wonderful week at the La Dolce Vita Resort. The hosts made this week very special, and chef Michele prepared us the most delicious dishes for breakfast and dinner. Relaxing by and in the water during the day, great excursions, and delicious food, what more could you want? We were staying in one of the overwater villas with direct access to the lagoon, and had everything we needed. We will definetly be back soon!

When planning a trip to a remote island in Fiji, I looked for a base nearby and contacted several places near Savusavu to see if they could help with the challenging travel arrangements. Some had not even heard of the remote island, and only one knew it and offered to help: La Dolce Vita (LDV). In all my travels, I've not encountered such wonderful service as with the staff of LDV. The menu was planned in advance of my scheduled arrival, and adapted to my tastes. A schedule of activities was also arranged ahead of time, including travel to and from the remote island that I was to visit. In the end, I had to postpone my trip, but I nonetheless remain impressed with, and grateful to, the LDV staff and operation. First rate.

This is the best place I've ever stayed, bar none. Food? Outstanding. The owners have developed a perfect little hideaway. You live like royalty yet will leave grounded and mellowed. Truly incredible.

If you're searching for a place to stay in Savusavu, look no further. La Dolce Vita is a resort without compare and will treat you like family from day 1. Margaret and Luigi are welcoming and hospitable, and the authentic atmosphere they've created truly brings out the feeling of paradise in Fiji. Through exclusive dolphin trips in Natawa Bay, the private golf course, and new massage stations, an overwhelming relaxation is possible, to escape the busyness of life and experience "Fiji Time". Not only are activities endless, but the expert cuisines that come from the kitchen are delicious. Michel puts an extra pinch of love into each homemade dish, and the service at meals and around the rooms caters to your every need. Margaret's graciousness as a host will definitely draw us back for another visit as soon as possible! Vinaka vaka levu!

This is a really hard review to write without it becoming just a long list of superlatives. It is amazing, brilliant with the best food in Fiji but it is so much more than that. I can honestly say I had the best 5 day break I have had in years and it is all down to the ambience that Margaret and Luigi have created.

It is like you have had this Uncle who travelled far away years ago and you have not seen him but periodically news reaches you that your uncle has bought a house in the most beautiful spot in Fiji. Then over the years the odd glamourous story reaches home of what he has been up to but he is unseen and you really want to travel there to meet him and see if all the stories are true.

Then finally you go to see your long lost Aunt and Uncle. (Sorry Margaret I know I am older than you) and everything you have heard about the wonderful place they live is true. But best of all they are really pleased to see you after so long, and they welcome you with open arms and because you are family you every whim is indulged.

I am not related to Margaret or Luigi but that is what we all felt when my family stayed at La Dolce Vita. It really is that good.

Dinners were just fabulous. We all sat around a big table with Luigi at its head. It felt just like being at a family dinner in Italy with lots of noise and laughter. Michelle would produce the most fantastic food, the best this side of Abruzzo.

One word of caution, beware of Margaret’s Caffè corretto. So Good but So bad. But best of all no impediment to sleep. Go up to Villa Firenze, leave the shutters open, Leave the door open. Fall asleep to the sound of waves being cooled by the sea breeze.

I can’t wait for the next time I stay with Auntie Margaret and Uncle Luigi

This is the way to see how the real people of Fiji live, work and play! Loui and Margaret ensured our stay was as lazy as we wanted it to be, and with enough activities scheduled to keep us busy in between the lazy bits! The resort is staffed by locals who really want to show everyone a good time. Nothing is too much trouble.

A quick list of the top things to do
-Wake up for brekky... Pancakes, Bacon and eggs, Fresh Fiji Fruit or Michelle's special Fiji pancakes anyone?
-Go for a swim, or explore the coral reef literally at the back door
-Sit around the bar and drink in the exotic surrounds
-Fish with some of the neighbors.. They use spears, but have rods as well!
-Take the barge out to the island for a BBQ and swim
-Go snorkeling in the bay.. see the dolphins if you are lucky
-Sit around the bar and drink while the kids are entertained by the locals
-Visit the nearby village and school. Happiest kids we have ever seen!
-Party with the locals, drink some kava, sing and dance!
-Redeem yourself at the nearby church late Sunday morning, some of the best church singing you will hear!
-Have a massage... Say goodbye to the rest of the afternoon
-Take a taxi in to town for some local shopping. Souvenirs, fruit and bargains.
-Have a drive of the Jetski out on the lake
-Sit around the bar and drink!
-Use the paddle boat or kayaks to explore the reef and drop off
-Visit the Pearl farm in town, take the glass bottomed boat for a tour.
-Sit around the bar and drink....
-Have a round of Fiji golf on the exclusive La Dolce Vita Golf Course
-Enjoy home made pizza or succulent roast pork hot out of Lou's own Wood Fired oven
-Finally.. Sit around the bar and drink!

A great place to visit for all ages and very kid friendly. Ideal for a group of friends or family. Do as little or as much as you choose! Forget the resorts in Nadi, where you could be anywhere in the world watching a floor show of traditional dance... This is the real deal. Live amongst the locals while getting pampered!

To Lou, Margaret, Michelle, Faith, Joe and all the Staff and local visitors... Thanks for an unforgetable Holiday...

We will be back!

Gavin, Miranda, Alicia and Austin

The first thing you notice about Fiji is how friendly and honest the people are. Coming from Melbourne, Australia, and having done a bit of travelling around the world, it takes a while to realise the people are genuine and not in the habit of trying to take advantage of the tourist.

Staying with Lui & Margaret at La Dolce Vita Holiday Villa's was the best way to experience Fiji. The accommodation was first rate, the staff were all fantastic and their chef Michelle's food was incredible.

Margaret helped us plan our visit, suggesting activities for each day. We went kayaking, swimming, explored the coral, saw dolphins and their babies, visited local villages, went on numerous trips throughout the island to explore other towns, went to Church with the locals, played golf and went for long walks. We did this all at a time when Fiji was undergoing a soft coupe and not once did we feel threatened.

We were concerned that our two teenage children might become bored, leaving behind their shopping malls and technology, but they enjoyed every moment and definitely want to go back again soon.

We thoroughly recommend La Dolce Vita Holiday Villa's and Lui & Margaret as hosts.
