We had the pleasure of staying here for a short 3 night stay, but we sure did fit a huge amount in whilst we were here!!!

We were blown away by the friendly staff and how much care they showed to all of the guests.

The kids club was amazing, although we don't have any children ourselves we really did appreciate what an amazing time they all had. The parents could just hand them over and they would have a ball with all of the adventures the staff included them in. From glass bottom boat trips, to snorkelling tours, to kayaking, it was all catered for in a safe and friendly way.

We were so lucky to stay in the Presidential Villa - if it's good enough for some massive celebrities then hey, we felt like super stars!
It was HUGE, and the outdoor waterfall and indoor spa were simply stunning. The infinity edge pool was a huge bonus and with 4 shower areas to sue we were spoilt for choice, the outdoor one was amazing with views that took your breath away!

We were amazed by the trips on offer here, and some of them that we did were ...
A private island breakfast - this is not to be missed, you literally have the whole island to yourselves, so wonderful!
We went on a waterfall hike, this was stunning too!
We also had the amazing experience of going to a local village to see their way of life and we were welcomed by such wonderful people it was very moving.
There was even a show put on for us all at the resort, local singing and dancing which was awesome!

The food was really great quality and we loved everything we ate and drank!

What a special place to stay, we will be back for sure and thank you to all the team for making it a very special time for us!

Our stay at Jean Michel Cousteau has been literally extraordinary. The costs invested have been absolutely worth it and repaid a 100 times: it all starts with your arrival when you are accosted with the most beautiful Fijian song and find yourself suddenly childless as the kids are whisked off by their buddy to show them the Bula club. The latter includes a beautiful pool and cool waterslide, tennis/volleyball and basketball facilities as well as an amazing tree house all set in the lushest tropical gardens. The buddies have boundless energy and do everything that we as parents are usually too tired to. Every day has a different program that not only entertains but teaches facts about the ocean and Fijian life. Truly, unless you join some of those activities you will hardly see your children. The adults have a similar daily program for those that can be enticed away from the most beautiful tropical pool settings including excursions off site ( kids can join of course) as well as snorkeling expeditions. The reef starts at the pier and is again exceptional. For those that have seen the movie “Finding Nemo” you’ll know what to expect: an aquarium of the most beautiful kind. Scuba diving lessons are available as well but even without them we were able to see hammerhead sharks when snorkeling in a marine park 45 min away by boat which is yet another step up in the marine world. The individual Bures ( traditional Fijian houses) are very luxurious and beautifully maintained. The house keeping is very attentive and everything is designed to have the the smallest environmental impact possible. Every staff member goes out of their way to look after you. Smiles and greetings of “Bula Bula” literally surround you in every corner of the resort. A trio of 3 musicians plays most of the day and creates a wonderful feeling of harmony and relaxation. Which only leaves the food to talk about. The restaurant has the most beautiful sea and pool views one could wish for and the food is truly worth 3 Michelian stars. Every meal is a gustatory experience I have yet to match elsewhere. The presentation and choice of menu is absolutely faultless and designed to cater to all tastes. Overall we have had a most extraordinary if not the best holiday ever.

Everything at the resort from the people and service to the grounds and guests was the best we have experienced anywhere in the world. My wife and I took our late honeymoon to the Jean-Michel Resort, and got all the relaxation, excitement, culture, and adventure you could ask for on a trip to Fiji.

The daily activities were perfect for couples or families, not taking up a whole day and providing just the right amount of adventure or cultural experience needed. The resort itself was immaculate, situated beside a beautiful reef should anyone want to go for an impromptu snorkel, and any additional activity planning was made easy by the staff for those more active days.

Last, every meal we had was unbelievably fresh, and prepared and presented perfectly.

We do not have kids (yet) but from what we saw, the nanny service was stellar. Kids were refusing to leave the grounds, in tears at the time of their departure, denouncing their hometown friendships in order to stay and live full time with their nannies. Once my wife and I have a few kids we are coming back ASAP!

Our family of three just spent 7 days at the Jean-Michel Cousteau resort and had a really incredible, memorable stay. This is the most beautiful and luxurious resort we have ever been to. The location on the tip of the peninsula is stunning and secluded, the staff are extremely welcoming and attentive, the rooms are very comfortable, and the food is fine dining every meal, every day. Our 4 year old loved the kids club and his nanny and we really appreciated having some adult-only time to relax. We did a lot of the complimentary excursions including the rainforest walk and village visit and really enjoyed then. The snorkelling is amazing! Highly recommend this place. The price tag is more than other options in Fiji but considering both the quality and quantity of what’s included it is well worth it!

The thing we loved most about custo is the bula kids club. Our nanny Irene was just the best and our little one had a great time on her first vacation. She enjoyed the glass bottom boat, swimming and playing with the other kids. It was nice to see her make friends. They can spend the whole time in the bula club so you can find the perfect balance of family fun and relaxation. We felt so comfortable leaving our little (1.5 years old).
The staff are all great, food was good (dinner service was a bit slow especially considering how early the little ones go to bed). Not having AC didn’t bother us at all and the burres are great- eco rustic vibe 10/10. The spa was amazing with traditional Fijian style massages - the best! Love that everywhere you go you get reusable water bottles (no plastic bottles!)
We left so relaxed and happy highly recommended :)

This is the most relaxing resort I have ever visited. Away from the hustle and bustle of civilisation, it was easy to un-plug from society and just enjoy the magnificent views of the beach and ocean from the gazebo.

My hypothesis that Jean-Michel being French, and food being very important to French culture, were the cause of the food menus being excellent. The menus constantly changed themes throughout our weeks long visit. The food also featured many traditional Fiji dishes, all of it being fresh. The hotel manager has also done an excellent job working with the bar staff to provide a very diverse wine list with wines from around the world.

A side tip, you can request special items such as lobster for dinner, and the chef’s team will prepare the meal per your desires for a nominal fee. You can enquire about other special dishes too, but be aware that special requests like lobster are not included in your inclusive package. Make sure you make your request early in the morning prior to food shopping for the day. The chef is keen on freshness.

We have children under five, so they were each assigned a nanny during out visit. This enabled us to got scuba diving to some of the world’s most pristine dive sites without any worries for our kids. Throughout the day and evening our kids were engrossed in wonderful, and exciting activities at the Kids Club. Much of the day also includes learning about new things and the resort also has the onsite Marine Biologist teaching the kids about the ocean. I would argue, a very Cousteau strategy.

Our accommodations where comfortable, and with the cool tropical breezes, we slept well ever night. The resort provides many relaxing opportunities to unwind and destress throughout the week, to include the message studio. With live music in the evenings at dinner, and lots of places to relax in the common areas our visit was invigorating.

What really differentiates Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort from other establishments is the cohesiveness of the staff. From the ground keepers to the dive shop, everyone was exceptionally friendly, and really understood customer service. They are a community and have a vested interest in the success of the resort, and it shows with their excellence.

Our group of 4 stayed in garden bures. It didn’t even matter that it was not ocean view- the grounds are spectacular everywhere with plenty of opportunities to get to the water. Service everywhere was exceptional (too many amazing staff to list!!), and guest services even procured me a giant bottle of pineapple jam when I couldn’t find what I wanted in town. The people here truly make it an unbelievable experience. Daily snorkeling was a highlight, and the spa was heavenly. Food pleased our diverse palates and there were plenty of activities to try, including night snorkels, kayaking, sailing, learning about coconuts, and a variety of trips. One can’t be bored unless that’s the goal! Hermit crabs abound on the private island and the area is teeming with sea life. The pier dinner had to be in a cabana due to inclement weather, but we still felt special.

Things that could be improved- the village visit and cultural activities after the lovo were awe inspiring, no doubt. However, it lacked explanation of what was happening and their significance. Same for the waterfall visit- I thought we would learn more about the area, but it was solely to wade in the waterfall and then return. The resort is quite child friendly but sometimes to the detriment of other guests. The most disappointing, however, was our Nandi tour arranged by the resort. We were taken for a ride literally and figuratively with a rushed dinner in an uncomfortable car and significantly overcharged. As that was our last activity, it left a sour taste after a blissful week.

Despite these downfalls, I’d still return in a heartbeat to Jean Michel Cousteau.

This was our 3rd visit to JMC. We booked it in October 2019 and stuck with it through all the Covid restrictions, knowing how good our previous experience was. Well for our first overseas trip in 2 years, it was well worth the wait! From the initial welcome by all the singing and dancing staff, to our sad farewell after 11 days, every day was a fantastic. We had a garden view bure, which was spacious, well appointed and comfortable, just a short walk from the beach. Every meal was a highlight, with delicious food and attentive service. During the day, we always had a choice between relaxing in a cabana by the pool, or irrestisitibly, enjoying one or more of several enticing activities. Guided snorkeling was offered every day and on Wednesday night. Yoga was offered every day, including a couple of times on the private island. We had excursions to the farmers' market, local village, mangrove island, mountain hike, waterfall rainforest; and even a rubbish collection hour on the main road (compared to back home, surprisingly difficult to find much litter, but a great opportunity to get to know some of the staff). We had an afternoon to ourselves on the private island, where we were dropped off and left with a gourmet luncheon selection to enjoy in our dining table and cabana, afterwards relaxing with a snorkel or just lying on the hammock. Our foot massage on arrival was a very nice touch. We also had wonderful treatments at the spa. I don't swim, so I was particularly grateful to the boat crew, but especially Vuli, who looked after me in the water. The Bula Boys band were fun to listen to and share kava with each evening. The local village choir put on a great floor show for all. I know there will be a 4th visit - of all the beautiful places we've visited, JMC and Fiji are firm favourites.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated with such great hospitality. This family-like manner persisted until our departure. All of the staff members were a joy to be around. The grounds were always tended to. Beautiful floral arrangements everywhere. The food and drinks were outstanding... I'm going to say that again: The food and drinks were outstanding. With new and different options every meal, we were kept well fed and were never hungry. The view into the Savusavu Bay was beautiful, and you can enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, or wind sailing in the bay as well.

This resort provided me with my diving certification and first times diving. It was an unforgettable experience. All of the diving instructors were so kind and friendly, and always made sure you were comfortable while submerged in the water. All of the dives were very well organized and at astonishing locations. This was a once in a lifetime experience.

Our party rented the Villa as well as a Gardenview Bure. The Villa was gorgeous inside and outside, and had a luxurious view of the Savusavu Bay. The Gardenview Bure was also very welcoming and spacious. The spa is close to all Bures. There, I received a deep tissue massage, and I fell asleep twice with how relaxing it was.

Live music and drinking kava with Bula Boys is another experience I will never forget. On this trip, we also went on a short walk through the jungle to a gorgeous water fall. We were able to go to the local village and be welcomed by the people and their chief.

As for anyone who reviewed this resort anything below 5-stars is insane. The experience was magical and absolutely one of a kind. I hope I am grateful enough to come back for more!

Thank you to everyone working at Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort. They treated all of us like family. Without them and their kindness, it just would not have been the same experience at all.

We stayed at the JMC Resort for two weeks and it was very difficult to leave.

We have three children under 5 and each one of them had their own nanny! They had such an amazing time with the nanny's the kids barely wanted to speak with us and were just asking when they get to go back to the Bula Club!!

While our children were expertly taken care of by some of the most patient and kind nanny's I've ever met, my wife and I managed to get our open water diver certification! Their dive shop gives you the knowledge and training to get out in there and have a fun safe time swimming with SHARKS!!

I can't stress how amazing all the staff are. From the service staff all the way to the landscaping team, you really feel how friendly and welcoming they are.

One of the activities staff there, Kuki really made the experience authentic. Getting the opportunity to sit and have Kava with the whole family in the village was a life changing experience.

Take a walk with the staff in the mornings and you will learn a lot about their culture. I went out with Mika and Kuki and both times I was blown away!

The GM, Bart, and Kuki made it so we had a giant bonfire at the beach on our last night. It truly was one of the best nights at the resort and sadly our last!

When you check out of the resort, the staff is all there to sing a farewell song that will bring tears to your eyes as you depart this paradise. I can't wait to go back!!

Thank you JMC Resort for making our stay one we will never forget!
