The room was great, the view was great, the staff were great (especially Alejandro), the amount of wildlife you see each days was awesome (we saw marine iguanas, blue heron, sea lions, rays, frigate birds and sally light foot crabs), the drinks were great, the food was great and it is within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, the water taxis and...

Front desk staff was excellent. Great service. Breakfast was also excellent, attentive staff. A few nagging problems that reduces it's rating. Typical Ecuadorian inattention to detail with design/construction. Bathroom door would grind on the floor of the bathroom - a simple fix. Instructions for the in room safe were confusing. I had to ask for assistance and I have several...

Small hotel, great location. We walked everywhere. Rooms were clean and comfortable, restaurant was delicious. Fresh water was easily accessible. Breakfast was great, Bar even better. Views of the ocean from every room. The sea lions do lay by the pool. The pool and hot tub not great, but, we didn't use them. One of the biggest benefits to me...

We were booked in to the Hotel Solymar as part of our package we booked through Galapagos Alternative and we were so happy with the hotel. The location was great allowing us to easily wander out each evening to find a new local spot for dinner (Make sure you head over to the Calle de Kiosk at least once). The...

very nice hotel with a great outdoor deck area and restaurant/bar. Very American-friendly. Pool is visited by a variety of the local wildlife - including sea lions in the lawn chairs! Wifi was decent, and clean water was easily obtained on each floor.

I didn't know that the restaurant in Hotel Solymar was for the public and not just hotel guests until I recently asked if I could take a photo of the sea from inside the hotel. Since then I've eaten twice at the restaurant. Both meals were excellent. Last night I had a seafood pasta, and previously Fish Fillet Provençal- with...

Location wonderful (even sea lion coming to the pool), room modern and with a nice view on the sea, personnel friendly but with limited English language skills, food average (we had an all inclusive package, choice only between two menus, always more or less the same) even though the hotel restaurant is known to be good. All in all recommended.

My mom and I arrived in the Galapagos expecting to be on a boat later that afternoon. Our boat, however, was broken so we had to make other plans. The solymar hotel provided accomodations for two nights until we could find another boat. The front desk was very understanding and helpful. The hotel is nicely located on the main street...

With views over the bay and nature on your doorstep, it would be hard to make this experience any better. However, the staff manage this. They are naturally helpful and as I am recovering from gringo tummy, they did all they could. The chef even tailored the menu to a more stomach-sensitive diet for me.

We stayed here because we wanted a nice location. It is a small hotel with nice amenities, a fun bar and pool (although with the birds and reptiles around, I would not swim in it). The staff was great and breakfast tasty. I definitely recommend.
