Stayed here for quite a while in April of 2017. Room #406. I paid 36,000 pesos per night. Clean, insect free room. Private bath with walk-in shower that was missing a shower head. It was like standing under a hose but hey! There was plenty of hot water. Fan, small desk, flat screen TV (no English stations) window out to central area. Bed was less than comfortable. Time to think about new bedding in this place.

Very quiet at night. No problems at all with that issue. Staff was excellent. Very accommodating and helpful. Some English spoken but being able to speak Spanish helps here. I had my laundry done here. Same day service cost me 8,000 pesos. Hotel is secure. No issues with anything in that regard. WIFI was adequate but not blazing. Front desk printed 3 documents for me gratis.

Neighborhood is a commercial district. Lots of stores, traffic and noise which might be an issue if your room is on the street which mine was not so I heard NADA. For $14 a night I've done a lot worse in the past. If I roll through Medellin again then Conquistadores would be a no-brainer.

The staff is fantastic, they're very helpful and friendly, as soon as I reached the provided me with a map and advised the closest places I could visit, its in walling distance to Parque Botero, metro and also its in a commercial area so there are many restaurants and stores to purchase clothes, shoes, etc. the bad part is that everybody will tell you not to go out at night so by 6 pm your day is over and you have to return to the Hotel, because you'll be at risk of getting mugged
Overall I think its good because of the price(private room with bathroom) and the hotel was clean, it had hot water and the food is inexpensive.

Si tienes preguntas en español, déjame saber.

The hotel is located downtown which probably is a really dangerous place to stay. However, if you can always take an Uber its fine. The prices are amazing because is really cheap. The hotel offers to save your valuable objects, if needed. It has a restaurant and goodies shop that really cool when you want to go out. The food is amazing because is typical paisa food and te ladies who are in reception are so lovely. Don't select any room that has view to the streets because at night it becomes really loud.

When I arrived at Hotel Conquistadores, I was very, very pleasantly surprised by my room. The street outside is very vibrant with vendors, restaurants, buses, etc. But with a room toward the back, this hotel was seriously one of the quietest I have ever stayed in. I had a private room with a private bath (real bath towel, too). Room was spacious and had a tv with cable (CNN International, which covers sports waaaaaay too much). The staff were very friendly and helpful, but not cloying. Room was very clean (kudos to the hard working staff - cleaning is a tough job). Wifi was excellent. Metro is about five minutes on foot. Conquistadores was very safe, too. I stayed a while, getting to know Medellin, which has earned its title as one of the most progressive cities in the world. I highly recommend this hotel. It's a great launching pad to get to know a great city and its people.

Conquistadores is a very good and inexpensive hotel in downtown Medellín. The rooms are very clean and the room service is fast and efficient. Staff is friendly and helpful, and one feels secure. They offer laundry services, individual strongboxes for your valuables, TV, free Wi-Fi, a laptop, book exchange.
while the hotel is in downtown Medellín, the rooms are surprisingly quiet - except those facing the street; but when you step out from the hotel you are in the middle of chaotic, cacophonic, congested, polluted area. On the other hand, that is where you find museums, monuments, parks, etc. of interest in the city.
All and all, if you are on a shoestring budget, you cannot get a better deal than that offered by Conquistadores.

The hotel is centrally located and mainly Colombian families and businessmen stay there. Perhaps because it's cheap. In fact, it was the cheapest place I stayed during my entire Colombia trip.

Due to it's central location you should be careful at night. During day it's safe, but during night. Don't walk alone around, use central and bright streets and don't carry more than 50 thousand pesos. Most store accepts credit cards and can call you a taxi back to the hotel. You won't be injured but robberies are on a daily basis, despite police presence. If you get in such a situation give them your cash and they let you go.

When you try to get there give the taxi driver the address. Most drivers get confused by the name, as it is a neighbourhood on the other side of the river.

My stay:
---
The staff was friendly and gave me a map, a booklet and helpful sightseeing information during arrival. The first night I got a room on the street and although I live in the city and I'm used to noise I required ear protection to get some sleep. The windows just have one layer. The next day I asked to change which was no problem,

The far bigger problem is the mattress. Actually "collection of springs covered by a blanked" would rather be the correct term. Don't know if it's the age, but I had to put a lot of clothes in between to avoid back pain the next morning.

Pros/Cons:
---
+ Cheap!!!
+ Free WIFI
+ Helpful Staff (despite language barriers)
+ Free Coffee

- Rooms towards the street are loud
- Terrible mattresses
- Taxi required at night
- Don't speak English

Summary:
---
Sleep quality is poor. But I give an additional point, because of the helpful staff.

Hotel Conquistadores is a clean, quiet, safe, affordable hotel to stay in the heart of a very busy and beautiful downtown Medellin. It is the older section and bustling with life! It can be noisy at times with all the local buses and vendors calling out, but the hotel offers a refuge. The room was cool during the day. There was standing fan in the room for your use. It was very quiet at night. It you are worried about security, you don't need to here. My window opened onto an interior courtyard. The front desk manages a locked security door with a buzzer and they screen who enters. There is a guard posted outside from dawn to dusk. They will not tolerate any nonsense here!! The hotel has a restaurant area on the second floor that serves both breakfast and lunch, but not supper. The Colombian food is excellent, because it is simple and fresh. There were pictures of historical Medellin on the hallway walls. They also had a seating area near reception with maps, tourist books and a TV. The room was artsy with an updated private bathroom. The shower really did have hot water (some places don't). The hotel is in the textile / fashion section of town, but there are stores and stalls of all kinds, including a nearby grocery store. It is near the banking district so easy to access ATM's. It is also within walking distance of the Botero Park and Museum, where you can see a number of Botero's large size sculptures. There is an abundance of street vendors selling fresh fruit and snacks and outdoor restaurants just outside the door. Staff are friendly and helpful. The room is cleaned and the bed changed every day. The metro station is within walking distance. You can access most parts of Medellin via this rapid transit. The manager speaks English and is very knowledgeable regarding what tourists would like to do in this large city. I was able to get directions to the swimming pools and libraries. I was a travelling alone and spent almost three weeks at this hotel. I made a trip to the "Americanized" part of the city, Poblado, which was nice, but I preferred to stay in the older section of town and experience the culture of the city. I had a great experience there. Staff are very nice and made me feel at home. It is true, the weather is almost constantly perfect in Medellin!!

I have been traveling for some time and it was great to get a private room at such a great price. The lady ( Angelica ) at the front desk was god sent. She was the utmost profession ( I've come from the service industry ) and know great service when I see it. She was amazing and helped me get around the city. As for the property it is in the center with much shopping and locals to mingle with. I loved it. It was easy to get in and out of. The metro is right up the street and you can conquer the rest of the city within minutes. Medellin is large so spend a few days in the center with very clean rooms and hot showers. Rooms are perfect size for a traveler. Enough said. I paid less than I deserved. Everyone else and their comments just are born with their nose in the air.
