Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is my second stay at 61Prado. After one night at another guest house in the Laureles neighborhood this is the only hotel I will stay at in Medellin. The location is perfect in a quiet residential neighborhood but only a few blocks from the metro and walking distance to downtown. The owner and staff are all super friendly and the hotel is very clean. The food and service at the restaurant is excellent and can be enjoyed in the many public spaces including on the huge rooftop terrace. The view is amazing. This is a 5 star guesthouse with a 1 star price.

As long as you have low expectations, this hotel is ok. They forgot to hire the driver to meet me at the airport. My room's only window opened into the laundry area which was noisy from around 8am until 9pm every day (no chance for sleeping late). Wifi was ok, but slow and dropped out occasionally. Bed was ok. The location is about a 15 minute walk from the Prado Metro station. There's not much in terms of interesting, good dining options in the neighborhood (its semi-residential). Staff speaks fluent English, and were friendly.

Again, not a bad place (especially for the price point), but not amazing either.

The hotel itself was beautiful. The staff were attentive and very friendly, the rooms were clean and simple, and the third floor has a great view of the city. The hotel was a five minute walk from the Metro and from there you could get to most areas of the city. However, the neighborhood of Prado was not one you'd want to walk around after dark. It was close to the city center which was a more business/industrial area than a touristy area. This meant that we could never go for evening walks and we rarely went out to dinner because it would mean taking an Uber there and back. The hotel was located a 20 minute walk or a subway stop away from a lot of the main attractions in the city, so that was a plus, but my boyfriend and I both wished we'd been in an area with more restaurants and cafes.

61 Prado Guesthouse is the perfect combination of comfortable, friendly, affordable and stylish. The service is impeccable, and the restaurant delicious. The beds are eerily comfortable. Make sure to check out the rooftop view of Medellin. The staff were extremely helpful in providing Covid-19 testing information before our flight. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

This is one of the best hotels I have been and I have visited 116 countries. The hotel is cristal clean, the rooms are spacious and nicely decorated and the price is really good for the quality you get. The owner, Lucas, works hand in hand with the employees and Yaceni is the heart of the place, always ready to help, to serve or to give an accurate information. The hotel is also situated in the world heritage Prado Centre and close to the Medellin metro. The internet is excellent and the food delicious (the fillet mignon is the best in town). Highly recommended.

We chose this hotel based on photos on the internet and guide recommendations. When we arrived, it seemed old and lacking in charm. Despite the large size of the room, the quality of the furniture is poor and the window is made of glass sheets that do not close completely, which means cold and noise. The old bathroom. And despite being located near the Plaza de las Esculturas, its surroundings do not offer services around it (no restaurants or shops). The best thing is the friendliness of the hotel staff.

The hotel is located 5 minutes from the old town. In a quiet side street. I walked around by myself, it was safe, but you have to be careful, there are a lot of strange people around. The staff at the hotel are very good. I really liked the room, beautiful design, beautiful shower

Stayed here 3 times. The place is spotless and lovey, the staff couldn’t be nicer or more helpful, it is an oasis of calm in the centre of Medellin. Very close to the metro and centre. On site restaurant and roof terrace. Very reasonably priced too. Only negative point is that hot water can be limited.

Great place with a good staff. Very clean, and it's nice having a good restaurant inside. Not a great neighborhood for at night, but the hotel is very safe. Rooms are very clean, and also the bathroom is spotless. Great rest spot. The owner is very pleasant and speaks english...and can tell you the about the places to see.

Around an hour. The best way is to have 61 Prado arrange a taxi to pick you up.

how far from airport and cost of taxi to there?
Answer from Cas S
Stockholm, Sweden7 contributions2 helpful votes
Prado is close to the bus terminal, just 5 min by taxi and the bus from downtown to the the JMC international airport cost 9000pesos. But if you take a taxi straight it's costs around about 50.000pesos and less then one hour drive. I think the bus is better and you save some money
