4.5 Star Hotel, 3.5 Star prices. PROS: Great room service, maid service and overall staff, especially Melissa, Daniel and Hernan. Nice, modern rooms, with incredible views of the Medellin Valley & nighttime lights. Great built-in Closets & plenty of storage space. Great rainshowers & strong A/C. Good quality breakfast buffet & room service. Access to El Tesoro mall couldn't be nicer and more convenient. CONS: Inconsistent response by Guest Services to guests requests (Ice, towels, etc.). No Nespresso nor coffee maker in standard rooms, poor quality blinds that don't open/close well, inconsistent supply of irons in rooms, only 1 USB Charger, oddly located next to the bed rather than the desk.

This is property with that smell of new. Ultra clean (no carpets), attractive, amazing amenities and uncompilable service. One of the access to the hotel is directly from the El Tesoro mall (just like another storefront in the mall). And this mall has it all....I mean all. Supermarket, two huge arcades with zip line, trains, even a surf yard (yes bring the swiming suit), the best restaurants, movies, you name it. The mall even has one soccer training facilities on a roof top (just amazing). You just don't need to ever leave those few acres if you wanted. The hotel itself has its own amazing amenities. We tried the Spa (We did the Chocolate package) and it is at the level of any other 5 star spa in the US or Europe. The food quality is on point, specially the breakfast (which we chose to have included) that has all sorts of delicious breads, fruits omelets made at your request and many other things The roof top bar, gym and pool have amazing views of the city and are truly relaxing. I have been in several hotels in Medellin and this is hands down the best. Go for business (my room had a more than sufficient desk, with excellent WiFi) or go with family or with your couple and will have no regrets . Remember an Uber to any part of town is less than (US$9) so...this is a no brainer. Enjoy Medellin and be intelligent and choose a good hotel like this.

This a new new/modern/clean & well organized hotel. It is quiet (not so common in Colombia) & is in an elite neighborhood & generally very safe location. It forms part of the most up-scale shopping malls in Mde, so is an oasis of calm compared to the more urban downtown hotels (due to not having any traffic noise right outside) Take an Uber to central El Poblado for US$2-3. Its professional & super friendly/helpful staff add to its welcoming environment. Great views from the upper floors. I will definitely be staying here again, when I return to Medellin later this year.

1.the hotel has a bad location, a taxi or uber will take 20min or not understand how to get to the entrance 2. iron, hair dryer and dry cleaning took 50 minutes and four calls. 3. in order to get things from the wash you have to go down to the lobby and pay, after which the manager will take them out to you. this is absurd. why can't i pay on checkout? why should i go for my things? are you familiar what means the service? 4. in the evening we wanted to have a drink in the room with a friend, we were forced to pay $usd80 for his registration. 15 minutes later the manager came to the room and invited him to leave. the hotel did not return the money for the "registration" ...

Dear Mr Stepan Receive a cordial greeting We appreciate hearing your comments about the stay at the hotel, let me clarify certain concerns: 1. The hotel has a good location, just tell the driver that we are inside the shopping center and that you are at the entrance of the Hotel. 2. The day you requested the iron and the hair dryer, there were many requests and they took what was required in 20 minutes, not 50. 3. You had to go down to pay for the laundry because you did NOT have a guarantee in the room, due to hotel policies, it is necessary to pay immediately before receiving the product. 4. Through cameras we saw that there were more than 2 people in your room, which you denied, the process of removing it was carried out because more than two people are not allowed in a room without prior registration for security for you and your partner. We regret the inconvenience, we hope you give us a new opportunity and meet your expectations. Novotel Medellin El Tesoro.

The good: Location was decent, mall right next door. Good breakfast selection. Strong WiFi! Price was reasonable but considering the service and attitude of the staff I would not come back even for free.
The bad: Towels in the rooms smelled like moth balls. Air coming out of the AC had a moldy scent. Sleep quality was bad as you can hear the music from the bar upstairs. All these are fixable, but the bigger problem I see is with the team that is running the hotel, which brings me to...
The ugly: Staff is zero service or guest oriented and some even had an arrogant attitude with a need to argue. The simplest requests could not be fulfilled and there were significant communication challenges. For example: Issues with charging drinks to the room. Taxi could not be arranged for pickup from the hotel. Laundry pickup took 4 phone calls and 45 minutes to explain despite this being an offered service. We were also stopped by staff for wearing flip flops going to breakfast on New Year’s Day. Literally half the people on the previous day were wearing the same as well as tank tops, sleeveless shirts, etc. There was no special breakfast or ceremony so I reckon it was just inconsistency / individual interpretation of rules.
My recommendation: Stay far away from this hotel if you want to avoid frustration in 2020. Happy New Year!

This hotel exemplifies all that is the wrong with Colombia, specifically a lack of customer service or professionalism that you would see in other countries within a hotel of this calibre. On the surface, it appears nice and modern, yet service is what ultimately makes a good hotel. English is barely spoken and doesn’t even seem to be a requirement to be employed here. The gentleman who checked my parents in was in a bad mood, very unfriendly, and unprofessional. The location is good by El Tesoro but that is all. There are so many other issues that I can’t even get into.
I understand practical COVID protocols, but not allowing family members to accompany you someone to their room to ensure everything is alright for 5 minutes seems idiotic. I almost wanted to throw $80 in the guy’s face to get an extra room for the 5 minutes and show him what I thought of him and his idiocy. There seems to be no space for discretion or logic in this country. Obviously what they’re doing isn’t working, and they’re trying to put lipstick on a pig for show. I won’t be coming back to this hotel or Colombia again.

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times, & it has a lot of very good things going for it. To name a few; it’s attached to one of the most popular & beautiful malls in the city of Medellin, called Centro Commercial El Tesoro. So, you have at your fingertips great shopping, as well as many restaurant dining options here. The rooms are very comfortable, & come with breathtaking views of the valley of Medellin. The buffet breakfast each morning is average & certainly nothing to complain about, but nothing outstanding either. The bar upstairs is nice & with great views. However, hardly anyone is ever there. The pool area is small, but with great views of the city. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of constraining pool rules & regulations. Hotel security monitors the pool area closely, so that you don’t bring anything to eat or drink with you & there is nothing available to order, while you’re in the sunny heat at the pool. I’ve been to this pool many times & I’ve never seen people stay for long because it’s really not a cozy area. Even though it could be a very beautiful & fun experience, the confining rules & regulations make Novotel’s pool area a hostile environment & not enjoyable, nor good for relaxation, or especially rehydration! The hotel gym is less than basic & I looked at it once & I immediately knew that there is very little in there for me. I enjoy weight training & cardio & the gym is incredibly limited. The staff at the hotel is very friendly & even the security at the pool is polite, even when they tell you “No” to even having a drink of water, while at the pool. For a hotel pool experience in Medellin, I definitely recommend the InterContinental Medellin, because it is truly a resort property & they have poolside dining, with poolside waiter service. I’d stay here again, at this Novotel. But, there are better options in the city for a more well rounded hotel experience.

Dear Jim We hope you are fine. We want to thank you for taking your time to answer to this survey, and for sharing your experience with us. We are glad that you liked our hotel in general aspects. To be attached to the shopping mall is one of our strategies, since it makes our guests' stay easier and better, with all of the things you can do there. It is not only close but safe as well. We loved you liked our comfortable rooms and our good breakfast. We are sorry that the pool area did not meet your expectations. We want you to know that the rules we have there, are thought on your security. For example, we do not allow drinks served in glasses there, to avoid these from breaking and hurting people. However, you can take your drinks in some other kind of recipients. In comparison to other hotels, our pool has extended hours of use, as it is open from 6am to 9pm, which we think is an advantage to our guests. About the gym, it is modern and has everything you need to do some exercise. We have the treadmills, and also weights. In the shopping mall there is another option in case our guests need something more specialized. Our gym meets all the characteristics to a daily routine, requested by our brand, Accor. Our hotel is always open to all the people who want to visit us. We hope you come back soon to our hotel to keep enjoying it. Have a nice day.

This hotel does not offer bottled water to their guests after one nights reservation. Terrible public relations service. This morning I asked for yogurt and they informed me that they ran out of yogurt. I had to ask them to remove food plates from my room after it being left for a day. No face cloths either. No tissues. No earbuds. Laundry service will take 4 days. Stay where these services are standard.

This hotel surprised me with their sup par service. I expected more because I had stayed at a Novotel property in Thailand but this location doesn't hold a candle to that one. First, I arrive late at night & my luggage was lost. I shared this at the front desk & no one cared. I was not offered a toothbrush or anything. I was given a room where the bed was so hard that I could not sleep. I managed to make it until the morning & reported to the front desk the bed was hard & I needed a new room. I was offered a blanket but told them this would not work because a blanket would not make the mattress soft.
I was later moved to a new room. In my new room the fridge did not work & I shared with them I had medication that needed to be refrigerated. They sent a maintenance person who did absolutely nothing but looked in & behind the fridge. He told me the fridge was working & I said it was not but the one in the room I moved from did work. The manager came to my room & said the fridge did in fact work & I said it did not. I told the manager I had medication that needed refrigeration & he said he could take my meds for & put it in their freezer. I told him I was not comfortable with that. This manager never asked about my luggage or if I needed anything. I was very frustrated.
In fact no one asked me about my luggage. The very next day was my birthday & I shared that no one acknowledged my birthday. I was checking out & and heading to an event & shared once again it was my birthday. And this time Guy a doorman heard me & he went away & got chocolate for my birthday. He was the only person who acknowledged my special day. I was very disappointed with my stay.
However the hotel is in a great location, it is right next to a mall.

Upon our arrival, we were impressed with the stylish lobby of the Novotel that opens to the El Tesoro mall, packed with restaurants and shopping options. We enjoyed the expansive breakfast buffet, and found our rooms comfortable and quiet, great for light sleepers like us. The highlight of our stay was drinks and appetizers at the rooftop bar. With a view of the sparkling city lights, we enjoyed excellent cocktails prepared by Carlos and his crew. While we usually go for the classic martini, Carlos introduced us to some local innovations and helped us appreciate the Colombian cocktail culture. It’s worth a stop even if you’re not staying at the hotel.
