We had a lovely couple of nights at ananda boutique hotel. With helpful staff and great location in the heart of Cartagena Centro historico it was easy to get around! The hotel offers great food and relaxation areas and it’s walking distance to just about everything worth seeing in Cartagena. Highly recommend!

Close to food, and shopping. Easy walk to everywhere. I enjoyed this aspect the most. The continental breakfast was ok.. not to much variety. The staff was friendly and cordial. No window in the room. Pool available. The ceiling in my room was leaking ; it was a slow drip but annoying. Staff made aware , but I guess they were unable to repair it. The refrigerator in the room didn’t work. It was very warm.

If you're new to Cartagena, I'd suggest staying in the old city -- which is where this hotel is-- rather than on the beach. The hotel's location is great, with lots of restaurants and shopping and nightlife just outside the door. The hotel is quite elegant. Rooms are spacious and the king sized bed is big and comfortable. Don't miss the rooftop jacuzzi and lounge chairs on the 4th floor.

Our stay at Ananda was truly amazing! From the moment we arrived the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly, allowing us to checkin early and use the pool and other facilities before our room was ready. They were extremely helpful and attentive. The hotel is luxurious and decorated with taste, the rooms are just as so and also very comfortable. The AC functions extremely well and is very silent (which is very important in cartagena because you will need the relaxing break from the heat). Anyelli from the reception was always ready to assist and helped us organize our trip to islas Rosario (which was amazing - we took the trip to islabela). We also tried the restaurant for our first dinner and we highly recommend! The waiting staff is remarkable for both dinner and breakfast, and so is the chef! The pool on the first floor is beautiful and well kept, and very big for the type of hotel in the center of Cartagena. The rooftop jacuzzi is also very nice and the beds allow for a nice afternoon nap in the shade. Even though we were visiting during the off season (mid September) and there weren’t many guests, the staff made us feel very at home and were very eager to assist, all the while giving us privacy and space when they were not needed. Overall, an amazing stay, perfect from start to finish.

Dear all, I am reaching out as I wanted to provide feedback about the experience I had at the hotel today. My friend and I purchased day passes for 240,000 pesos each. At the time we purchased the passes, the person at the front desk let us know what would be included with our pass: access to the pool on the main floor, the rooftop pool, and lunch. She also kindly offered to allow us to use the shower at the spa as we would be leaving directly from the hotel to catch a 6-hour flight back home to New York. We began our day at the pool on the main floor, which was great until 12 pm when the restaurant started serving lunch. We began to notice tour guides leading tourists to the restaurant. The people that were being invited to the hotel did not match the ambiance and price point of the hotel. They were dressed inappropriately and were not the crowd I would imagine a hotel of this level wants to attract. We sat down for lunch at 2 pm and were rushed to order food. When our food was served, the quality was terrible, and it did not taste fresh. I was shocked by this, considering the price we paid for the day pass and the experience we were sold. I spoke with the front desk to express my dissatisfaction, and the staff became extremely defensive and argumentative. They let us know that bringing this kind of tourism to the hotel was a means of trying to increase revenue for the restaurant; however, this had a significantly negative impact on the experience of paying customers. After this conversation, we proceeded to go to the rooftop as we assumed this was a more private area. However, there was no staff attending to the roof, the jacuzzi was not turned on, and the cushions for the furniture were scattered on the floor, and we had to arrange them ourselves to sit comfortably. By this point, our experience was so distasteful that we wanted to leave. We went back to the front desk to inquire about leaving our bags and taking a shower at the spa later so we could go for a walk around the neighborhood. The staff at the front desk said the spa was booked until 5 pm, and they refused to guarantee we would be able to shower despite the fact this had been promised to us in the morning when we agreed to book the day pass. After attempting to provide feedback to the staff at the front desk for a second time and it not being well-received, we left and went to the Santa Clara Hotel instead. The service there was impeccable, with an attentive and kind staff who wanted to provide the best possible experience for their guests. The food also matched the level of service and ambiance at the hotel. Considering the day passes at your hotel and the Santa Clara's are the same price, the experiences could not be any different. I had previously stayed at the Anandá and had a wonderful time. I was shocked by the contrast I experienced this time around, both in the level of service and the type of guests that were invited to the hotel. Given our experience and the fact the food was inedible, I expect a thorough explanation and to be compensated accordingly. I look forward to hearing from you, Martin

My room was impeccable; the bed was so comfortable I didn't want to leave in the morning haha. The room was full of little details that I enjoyed: plants, candies, and a written note. The hotel staff was always courteous and kind. I felt welcome instantly. I would totally stay there again.

The young lady that checked us in was lovely. The two stars are for her alone. While a nice property, they do not function as a 5 star hotel should. Matter of fact they have a ways to go. I attempted to email and call (no one answers any if the numbers provided) multiple times prior to arriving with zero response. I reserved a twin deluxe (two queen beds) room and was taken to a superior room with one bed that looked like a queen. I had no interest in sharing a bed with my friend and I had booked my room months ago. Prepaid and all. They admitted the error and explained they had zero other rooms. Great. They offered to comp dinner OR gelato (mmmkkay) and a single rollaway bed and move us the next day. I asked if I would be refunded the difference as the room I reserved was more expensive than the one we were given. They told me that was inaccurate. That they were the same price. Their website prices the twin deluxe at a higher nightly rate than a superior room, which is what we were given based on the description on their site. This is an inadequate resolution to the error. At a minimum you refund and comp dinner because you’ve left me without anything close to what I’ve reserved and the option is not sufficient. After being resigned and maintaining being polite I go to our room and the batteries on the remote don’t work and the TV said the batteries were low. I went to reception and asked if they could kindly replace and then a very secret conversation took place and I was declined batteries because the light flashed green. They’d come look at the TV. No. Just no. This was about the time I said “this is ridiculous” and walked away. Patience zapped. Like I said not a 5 star. Maybe between a 3 and 4, they just don’t know how to provide the service level associated with a 5 star. I’d go elsewhere. There are loads of other options.
