Just OK is the best to say for this hotel. Lobby and other public areas look great, but rooms and halls need updating. Old carpeting and a loud air conditioner are some examples.Bath was good, but small. No hairdryer or coffee maker in the room. Bring your passport to avoid paying 16% VAT- we had a photo of ours, but...

I resided at this hotel for two months in 2016; March and April. Location is excellent. Many good restaurants within short walking distance. Area safe for walking in the evenings. Internet fast and reliable. Clean rooms. Decent breakfast included for price. Staff friendly. Manager/owner speaks fluent English. Overall, excellent value. Foreigners don't pay value added tax.

Lesek (the hotel manager) and his crew are simply top notch!! I returned to this hotel despite having a few some issues during my first visit... because the hotel was under renovation. Well... let's just say that the management and staff more than made up for it. First off... to be greeted with a HUGE smile and handshake from Carlos...

Renovations of the lobby underway, but overall a great experience. The staff is attentive and friendly. I definitely look to be back at El Peñon soon. I have stayed in the area in other hotels and this hotel definitely exceded my expectations. The rooms are big, comfortable and clean. the location couldn't be any better. It's in the middle of...

I stayed at the hotel during its major renovation (basically ground floor all torn out!) and it was quite frustrating to be woken up in the morning by the jackhammers on the foundation posts of the hotel. I was lucky I did not have to spend much time during the day or else it would have been unacceptable. The hotel...

The management personnel is very unprofessional and dishonest.... They were expecting us to stay in the hotel while the water system in the entire hotel wasn't functioning at all. They were smart enough to take us to a nearest hotel to compensate us due to the mentioned issue, but unfortunatelly that hotel also had the water service shut down. They...

I stayed a night here - Room 802, which is situated between floors 7 and 8. The elevator skips floors, stopping at odd-numbered floors only. I kind of liked it, as I didn't have a lot of foot traffic trotting by my room throughout the night. The room was quite big, so big in fact that the 32" TV was...

I stayed here in March 2015. I had a suite room. The room was a bit dated and very noisy but the staff were attentive and the place was clean. There was a mini bar and snacks available in the room however I just went to the supermarket and bought things for a fraction of the price. The hotel is...

This hotel is located in the best spot of the city. The service was great and the price was fair. It is located walking distance to great shops and restaurants. The river is just around the corner so it's great for walking/running. I very much recommend this hotel.

The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly. The staff was very attentive to my needs, they provided everything I asked. They brought my breakfast to my room when asked. No problems with coming in and out at anytime and there was no questioning by the staff.
