i was only in datong for a day so i figured, why not stay in a cheap hostel and save some money? i was wrong when there's only one cheap budget choice in town. they do cut the cost to the lowest for everything at first. but then i realized that they had to make their money back. i was...

The room is big enought, they are friendly, the location is good but we can listen the people at the street. The bathroom is a glass box, so if you are planning to share a room with a friend don't be shy.

We had a very good stay in this hostel. They put a big sign with "Youth hostel" above the entry of a baby clothes shop so its easy to find. If you are coming from KFC its on your left hand site. The staff is very nice and helpful they try to give you alle the informations you need. I...

You do not have a lot of offers in Datong but this one is enough. Staff speaks a bit english. Bed are chinese standard and clean (not soft ;) ), Location is good but the entry is difficult to find. Street is loud, do not expect to sleep late. Bathroom are average too.

I read all the bad reviews and still stayed here, because all other budget hotels and hostels are full. I regret it so much. It ruined my trip to Datong and their expensive tour made me pay a lot more than I planned to. The staff do not speak English nor do the try to make an effort to help....

I am writing this review because I don't want anyone else to go thru what happened to me! this is definitely one of the worse place to stay in any city! it was not easy to find, the entrance is a very weird clothing store, I actually had to go to the what seem like a backdoor staff entrance to...

We've stayed there just for one night in order to visit Datong the following day and catch our next train in the evening. The staff could barely speak English (except the basic sentences for the check-in). No breakfast included. We were in a four-beds dorm, small and quite cold. The bathroom is in the middle of the dorm, so you...

We stayed in a private room for 2 nights in November. We had a private bathroom thankfully as the shared bathroom looked and smelled absolutely horrendous. There is a smell of sewage in the hostel generally as other reviewers have mentioned - our room didn't smell too bad but it really isn't pleasant. The staff don't speak much English and...

Stayed in the hostel for 2 nights. Not a great experience. First, the staff could barely speak English so they could not help us with too much information. Secondly, the rooms are quite basic, not very clean (when we got there there was hair in the shower and the toilet was) and bit smelly - but, it's China in the...

We arrived at night and we walked by the hostel 3 or 4 times without even noticing it. There are no illuminated sign and moreover the stairs to go up in the hostel are in a shop. Yes you read it right! You have to go through a shop to access the stairs add a snow storm and by the...

“i was staying in a 6 bed dorm with a shower room inside. the shower room is see through. if you were a girl and staying here, i would recommend asking if they have other room type. also, smoking was apparently allowed in the dorm, so pick wisely.”
