Lovely spot to stay, simply beautiful. The rooms where spacious, very clean and modern. The whole hotel is beautiful and the staff was great and very quite. We only had breakfast but it was lovely, lots of new things to try both Chinese and regular breakfast items. We would go back to this place for sure.
Once again a top hotel we stayed at on our tour.rated 4-5 stars and all round was what it meant.great room, bathroom, breakfast buffet or more feast.Plenty of food and good variety to choose from.Once again the light switches are a trick to use and no English TV programs but could find good docos.
As part of a tour group, we got in quite late and saying that, the staff were really quick to get us through.
The hotel has gone through some renovations and the amenities are modern and great. The only downside is that the infrastructure that cannot be fixed are showing their age, eg; the shower recess had dried mould. It was not active but had stained the tiles.
The carpet was also showing its age.
Aside from that, you cant really fault the hotel. There are plenty of other amenities close by and for the adventure seeking, exploring the various shops is amazing.
The buffet breakfast was great, catering to all tastes. I noted one review that complained that the Chinese restaurant did not cater to Western tastes???? Hello, it is a CHINESE restaurant. If you want western food, KFC and Maccas are just outside. We found the restaurant reasonably priced and the food was great.
Another complaint I had read was the staff not speaking English. I think this is an unfair expectation. Although the staff could not speak fluent English, they wore great smiles and were happy to assist. We expect staff to speak English but we don't try to learn the local language. Try going to an English speaking country and see how many have staff that speak fluent Mandarin!
Lovely hotel. Nice rooms, could do with a revamp, but spectacular position close to every thing. Trendy shopping area & restaurants in parallel street behind. Great breakfast buffet.Really quirky little Stationary & gift shops just across the road for gifts & items at local prices.
The foyer looks pretty good however we had to go through two fire doors to get to our wing and find our room. I think we were in the older part of the hotel. The room was the smallest we had on our visit to China. The bed was comfortable but the air conditioner did not work well. The street outside became very noisy about 4am. Carpets are a bit worn and bathroom had a light that did not work. Breakfast was quite ok. It is a popular tour group hotel so lots of other tourists here. The good thing was it was so close to everything. It was an easy walk downtown and to local shops and restaurants.
