Hotel is okay. Lobby is good but room seems to be worn. Price is very reasonable. Staff at reception are not very welcoming. Breakfast is very good. Location wise if you go for the higher education town of Suzhou, this is a good choice. Otherwise it's really far from city centre.

The hotel facility in the room are quite old and worn out, found much broken amenities ( loosen door knob, leaking pipe ...) Front desk staffs are very rude. Breakfast has reasonable selection, but cooking is no big deal. Gym was pathetic, light and air-conditioning not turned on, and no one attend to it. Found some broken equipment too. Location... The XJTLU Conference Center may look like your typical "old style" Chinese official building, but once you get past the lobby and into the rooms it's nice, modern, well-appointed, and clean. The in-room internet is free and works fine (so far as the Chinese internet goes). Overall, no problems. For western food and groceries, leave the hotel and walk to... More

Most people staying at the hotel take part in university meetings, this means that sometimes 100 Chinese from other cities turn up so the lobby is sometimes overfull sometimes totally dead. Apart from that hote was very clean and well managed. I could not find the Western restaurant the booklet desribes and I had no English language TV channel, not... More

The hotel is literally next door to the campus I was working on for a couple of weeks in February. There are also some small shopping malls with restaurants and convenience shops across the road and a little further down, on the right. The room was large, modern and features a big desk. The wifi was a bit hit and... More

I think that this my third stay at this hotel, each time I have reported that the internet was very slow, I mean very slow. Now the western restaurant is closed. To make matters even worse my laundry has not been delivered and it looks like it is lost.

With over 80,000 staff and students in a wide variety of colleges and universities, Suzhou Higher Education Town has a surprisingly limited choice of local hotels. Thus, the hotel attached to the XJTLU conference Centre fulfills a very useful function for visiting academics, parents and the like. Although it describes itself as a four-star hotel, and certainly lives up to... More

I spent one night at this hotel it was quite an experience the check in staff were unusually friendly and efficient. The bedroom was absolutely enormous well appointed and furnished free wi fi. The bathroom was large with a great shower. The breakfast buffet would please all. The only negative is no english speaking channels on the tv.

“Rooms towards the front of the hotel can be noisy as the windows are not double-glazed. However, the back of the hotel has the A/C units. The best option, therefore, is to get a room on one of the higher floors.”
