Useful facility in building 8 of the campus. Convenient for conferences, with good meeting room. But oldish, smallish rooms, somehow outdated for this fast-changing country. Not in the same league as model hotels to be found for similar prices.

If yo go for this hotel I firmly advice to go for building N° 8. The hotel consists of 10 buildings all over the university campus. N° 8 is the best and cleanest and you won't be locked in at night! I stayed in building 1 and the front door is locked during night and I had to go out by the window!!!! So went to building 8 to complain about this rather dangerous situation (I mean in case of fire!) and they told me to wake up the gardien next time. Well,.......; Very friendly staff though, but very poor English and that for a International Academic Exchange Centre is rather astonishing

Well, it was an interesting view back in time. The location is on campus, very quiet and there are nice walks to take around there. The room was not comfortable, poor beds, and tiny! You have to pay for any water bottles, room cleaning was slow, and no one spoke any English. Of course, all rooms are smoking and people smoke everywhere in the hotel. Still, it was adequate. Would be much better if this were a student-run hotel, like so many university hotels around the world. But in China, this is a government hotel, with typical lack of hospitality.

I stayed in the Academic Exchange center on a short visit to Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The room, single deluxe, was perfectly fine, medium sized, and the hotel was very conveniently located. I greatly enjoyed breakfeast in the nearby, what I would call, "faculty club". There is internet that can be accessed via ethernet cable or as Wifi. During my stay the Wifi was not working too well, taking a long while to ccept my computer and shutting it out on random occasions. Communication with staff can be tricky when one is unable to communicate in Chinese but everyybody was helpful. Overall, this is a good place to stay when visiting HUST and I will be using it again.

Located within the campus of the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, this is a "university hotel" that largely caters to visitors to the university. The hotel is clean, simple, and functional. My room was a medium-sized one which had a comfortable bed and writing desk. The wifi worked. The bathroom was equipped with the usual selection of toiletries. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served in an nice dining room about a minute away (on foot). It was plentiful and tasty. The campus itself is a nice wooded campus with a couple of small lakes whose surfaces were dotted with lotus flowers. Definitely worth taking a walk.

Personnel toujours souriant.…
