Location is brilliant, right in the town centre a very short walk from Sophia Church. Staff were friendly despite a language barrier but China is well outside some people's "everyone speaks English" bubble. People complaining about the language barrier should remember this.

Best thing about this hotel is the location. Is within walking distance of some beautiful attractions and easy bus and taxi rides to places slightly far away. Breakfast is basic but for $2 who can complain. Staff try to speak English if Chinese is too difficult for you. Nice and

I stayed there on Jan 3 - 7, 2019 on my budget winter trip in Harbin. My reservation did not include breakfast. 1. From The Airport I found the best way to get there from Harbin Taiping airport was by a reserved taxi from the hotel. I simply wrote an email to the hotel few days

Its really just a simple hotel in a excellent location. We stayed in 2 rooms for the whole trip. First room - Can smell smoke in the room (all room is smoking room, no non-smoking room). The toilet door is not working, you can't fully close the door. 2nd room - No smoke and

Very short walk to the Sophia Church and the Main Street, also walking distance to the River. Staff were attentive and very kind, going out of their way to help us despite the understandable language challenges. Hotel's simple, good stiff bed, very good heating.

You shall be able to grab a taxi anywhere on Zhonglin street. Ask the taxi driver to use meter, most of them do it anyway. To get to the airport, the front counter at Ibis will tell you where the nearest airport bus stop is. Taxi to the bus stop takes less than 10 min. The airport bus costs 20 RMB per passenger. At the bus stop there are also taxi to the airport. It costs 30 RMB pp but you have to share with 2 other passengers. It is not comfortable. If you decide to take the airport bus, I would suggest that you give yourself plenty of time.

Sorry, No KTV or Good Bar. Can buy some beer and drinks in the 2nd floor cafeteria where breakfast is served. You can always BYOB. Can't say the Harbin nightlife is much. There are 5 star int'l hotels with top bars etc. KTV can always be found in China, depending on whether you want to sing or are looking for other services - be aware.

Trust the cab drivers to take you. If you've got luggage it would be easier to get a cab. Make sure they know where you are wanting to go. We used the email booking confirmation on a tablet which had the address in Chinese. We used this method everywhere in China. If they give a fixed price, say no and iInsist on using the metre. If they don't want to use the metre, get another cab. This only happened once in the 3 weeks we were in China The flag-fall should be 5.00RMB which is good for the first 1km or so. Cabs are cheap and all the cabbies gave change, if I gave them a large note. NOTE: there is a 1RMB surcharge on every fare, big or small. This is some sort of fuel surcharge. Hope this helps.
