What a beautiful and historic property this is. The rooms are small, but very clean with recently renovated bathrooms. Stayed on the top floor and it was very quiet. A wonderful breakfast was served in the light filled atrium. It takes only minutes to walk to downtown with its restaurants or to the waterfront.

THE HOTEL (Breakfast and parking, included in the rate): The Hotel Jose Nogueira: perfect 'book ends' to an amazing Patagonia adventure! We stayed at this hotel, the day we arrived, and the day we departed Chile (2 days on the front end, actually); it was perfect. After renting a car at the airport, we made the short drive into Punta...

We only stayed one night in this hotel. The building is very impressive, which in our opinion is what you are paying for. However our room was incredibly small, with only just enough room to get around a standard size double bed. The bathroom was just as compact. Room was clean, but very noisy due to the noise from other...

The entrance is not that imposing but go outside & look at the whole building to appreciate its beauty. The dining area is an airy, imposing atrium with grape vines on the roof. Rooms are small but adequate. On the top floor windows are set up high but as there are just views of roofs you don't miss anything. Reception...

Very interesting boutique type hotel located in central Punta Arenas. Excellent service and well appointed rooms. Good breakfast and dining, and interesting "Shackleton" bar. Private, though limited, parking onsite. Highly recommended.

We spent 2 nights here and the facilities were great and the staff were very accommodating. The hotel is in a beautiful old building and inside is the famous Shackelton Bar where we tasted the amazing recreated whiskey from their voyage.

We chose this hotel for a place to stay before departing on a Patagonian cruise. The location near the town square and not too far from the port seemed ideal. We arrived around noon and were too early to check in but reception did agree to keep our bags until the room was ready. As noted by others, the room...

Dear Passenger, I ´'m very sorry to read your comments, as you mention young people, I think this should be a day where we had a big special event and we had to hire part time people who sometimes do not have the experience that our staff hired. I dont understand some comment about breakfast beacause we ever have a...

The rooms are not too big,... in fact they rea very small, but clean. Not quite what one expects when looking at the room on line. The hot water arrives a bit slow at 07.00am The breakfast looks nice and is nice, but mouldy cakes and " no eggs today" are also on the menu. Too lazy to walk out...

Stayed here the first night we arrived in Punta Arenas. Like older European hotels the elevator is somewhat small, as are the rooms, but that's not why you come here. JG has an accommodating staff that is friendly and helpful, a decent breakfast and the famous(for polar explorers) Shackleton Bar. If it's available try a glass of the replica Highland...

We were unexpectedly moved to this hotel by our travel agent when late changes were necessary to our itinerary. In spite of initial concerns we were delighted with the experience and would recommend the experience to anyone. Because of the late booking we were accommodated in a top floor room with and outside view - however the view was only...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located in front of the main square, Hotel Jose Nogueira is the first and only boutique hotel in Punta Arenas, main entrance city to the world known Torres del Paine National Park and the closest city to the Chilean Antarctic Peninsula. Originally the building hosted the home of Mr. Jose Nogueira and his wife, Sara Braun. He gathered a great fortune during the second half of the XIX century. In 1890, he ordered the construction of a splendid mansion in the middle of the center of the city, which, with the passing of time, transformed into one of the symbols of Punta Arenas. The building was declared National Monument is 1982 and 10 years later, it became a small and exclusive hotel. Hotel Jose Nogueira has 22 rooms (17 standard and 5 suites). Our guests are welcome to use the on-site business centre or have a drink at the Shackleton Bar, that owns his name to the honorable voyage realized in the year 1916 by the expeditionary Sir Ernest Shackleton. ... more   less
