Detailed Reviews
Normally I read architect-designed and eco-hotel and I run a mile, as often, it is poor style over even poorer substance, however, the Apacheta is both very well designed which makes you feel extremely comfortable, and it is actually run pretty much on sustainable lines: No aircon, no swimming pool, local produce for breakfast and dinner. We had a room on the first floor, with natural aircon by way of the shower which has no roof and thus creates a natural airflow when the balcony door is left open. A swimming pool when you have the beach just there in front of you (not even a road to cross) is just unnecessary and an affront in the driest city on earth anyway. Breakfast with fresh fruit and juice from the oasis valleys nearby was ace. Staff super-friendly and ask them about what to do in Arica, they have lots of nice ideas!

At this hotel, they took care of our needs before we arrived. They offered us a crib for my baby, they even sent me photos of the crib they had. Also offer us a taxi or VAN with a baby seat and tell us the type of seat. Upon arrival, and since we arrived very late, they gave us the option of moving forward with remote check-in so that upon arrival this procedure would not be so extensive. The cute and comfortable rooms, the wonderful view, the excellent breakfast. Recommended the hotel, the restaurant and the beach outside, very quiet, ideal for small children.

+1
The rooms have such a nice view, it almost makes you oversee the many updates needed. I stay in 2 different room on 2 different occasions and can say that all rooms appear to be the same. The sunset view is out of this world and the staff I dealt with were amazing! Some spoke excellent English and others did their best and we made it work.
Having said that, the rooms need help. The sinks were cracked, the floors needed refinishing, the bathroom lights were popping off, there was rust all over.
Would I stay here again, yes absolutely, but don’t let the online photos fool you.
The restaurant had amazing food and I had the best mojito of my life (passion fruit mojito).

I've never slept in a room so close to the sea, we could hear the waves all night and smell the salty air from our beds. Wonderful location, lovely spacious rooms with an eye to sustainability. We had breakfast outside on a deck, once again overlooking the sea - lovely! The staff were very helpful and kind. We were only in transit to the border with Peru, shame, would have loved to have stayed longer!

I'm probably being generous with this rating but I really liked this hotel.
The rooms are slightly rustic but really tastefully done. Even though the room feels slightly weathered by the proximity to the sea, it adds to its attractiveness.
The hotel is outside town so not too much in the area but the walk along the adjoining beachfront is very pleasant.
Very good evening meal and breakfast and they have a bar service. The restaurant area outside is great for breakfast.
The seagulls are very noisy but they go elsewhere when the sun sets so you can get a good night's sleep.
Would happily have stayed here for an extra day or two.

We were staying at the hotel for few nights with our small baby. Jessica, Jolanda, Alejandro and the rest of the team were so kind to us.
We were feeling totally taking care of. After our hard trip to the mountains Jessica organized for Niko a baby bathtub. We are traveling in Chile since two months and it was the first time that someone thought about it.
Thank You so much!
Breakfast was great (especially yogurt and fried eggs) and the views of course.
I hope that we will be back when our baby will grow up.

Simple, ecological hotel, far from the city center, but excellent location, given that it is located on the edge of the beach. Wonderful view, you can rest lulled by the noise of the sea. Very friendly service, breakfast served at the table, delicious and sufficient. 100% recommended to go with a partner or a friend. Post breakfast calls for a walk along the Costanera towards the South towards Playa Lisera. Beautiful

This place is very special. We agree entirely re: the need for a refresh, especially in the rooms but it is otherwise incredible. A shoutout to Franco who goes above and beyond. Meals are great and the views are out of this world. It was hard to leave. It is hard to explain that even with the need for refreshing this place is one of our top favorites.

A very special hotel, just on the beach. All wood structure. Nice breakfast. We highly recommended it.
We just came for one evening before our Atacama trip but were very impress. We did not expect this kind of hotel in this remote city. The room itself is semple but the view !! wow

The hotel is very special. Has no air conditioning but does not bother. We just opened the balcony door from time to time. Pick up late at night at the airport also worked great. The beach, or as you would say, is public. In the morning you are awakened by screeching seagulls
