A big hotel outside city center with restaurant, swimming pool and good service level. But the hotel need to bee renovated, many of the rooms should have been closed for renovation. Also the restaurants are old fashioned.

we reserved two rooms facing each other. after flying 16 hours only to arrive at hotel and one room not ready. Clerk suggested I check into another room them check out and recheck into prior reserved room once ready! Bizzare, after long flight was in no mood for this experience. Day two, room service asked if I would require room...

We stayed at the Hotel Sawa twice recently, and both rooms had similar issues so I suspect they are systemic. This is a Hilton property listed as being 4 star, but it is at best a two star establishment. The hotel was built in the late 1960's (1968 I believe) and not much has been done since. The decor is...

I just spent the last week at the Sawa Hotel in Douala, Cameroon and it was Okay. The Sawa has a nice pool which can be very refreshing during the day and is good to sit beside at the fairly expensive restaurant/bar, though the french fries are quite reasonable, during the day or evening. The Sawa has average connectivity to...

We used to stay here for work as company provided accommodation before we got a rented apartment, my wife cried the first time she had to stay here, rooms are very basic and damp, watch out for mosquitoes. Food wasn't that great, I had a tuna sandwich for dinner which was terrible, breakfast is much better but still not dat...

Hotel Sawa would be a good choice to stay in Douala, Cameroon. Their rack rates are high, but you can get a good rate of approx US$ 100 / night (breakfast extra) thru a local business contact who gives them regular business. It is important to insist on a room that is newly furnished & also pool (+ sea) facing...

Checked into the hotel was quick, and receptionist spoke a good level of English. Wasn't in hotel long but the bed was comfortable but the bathroom was caught in the mixture of time periods! Gold taps, powerful shower when it would stay in its holder, had to turn down power to make it stay in position! But the tiles around...

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in early January. Check-in was quick and the receptionist was quite welcoming. My room was spacious and clean. I didn't visit the restaurants or use room service during my stay because I was very busy in town. On my 2nd night there was a party near the pool and I was attending. Well...

I stayed there for a week. If you get a room please ske for one on the poolside. These have nice balconies and a great view. Also unless you are on the 8th floor (which os a four star floor) ask for a room without carpeting. Reason being the corridor carpeting on those floors though cleaned daily has a mouldy...
