Stayed in this hotel for two nights and I should have given 5 only if the Wake Up Call was delivered. Our group has a 7AM Airport call time and the 5:00AM WUC did not alarmed. Gladly I woke up and called up all rooms at 5:30AM. Reason: The endorsement says 5PM, not AM. Instead of getting irate, I smiled contemplating to reception who needs a 5PM WUC for a group of tourist? Just sharing no big deal! Nobody missed the flight. Nonethelss the Khmer hospitality remains one of best I have experienced so far. The breakfast is a must and the rooms are inviting after a busy stroll around the Angkor. The fresh flowers and the liles in the morning are lovely. Nothing much around the hotel and the massage rates are a bit pricey though.

Our room was big, clean and staff were welcoming. There were not many guests staying whilst we were there so breakfast was a bit hit and miss. Staff try hard to please but can come across a being a little shy or uncaring. Pool area was clean but pool towels need to be replaced as they are a little worn. Room linen and towels were all ok and changed regularly. Close enough to Pub Street for night life, $2USD for a tuk tuk each way. We enjoyed our stay here but probably a little overpriced and doesn’t quite meet its rating.

We were booked at this hotel for 3 nights from 25th Dec 2019. First the positives...location is close to city center, huge rooms with big bathrooms. It's a well constructed hotel but has extremely poor management. The day we checked in we got a feeling that this is a non operational hotel as the reception area was poorly lit and hardly any staff visible although it was Christmas day! The staff were indifferent, non welcoming. Infact the area lighting were switched on after we demanded. We almost thought of not checking in at all, but were forced to, as it was already 9pm and being holiday season alternative hotel will be difficult to find. We were told that restaurant will be open until 11pm, but it was already closed by 10.30 pm. We ordered food from outside and had to fight with the manager to get plates and spoons. The manager informed us that the restaurant staff had locked the restaurant and taken away the keys and hence they could not provide the plates and spoons....shocking!!! Next day we were at the reception ready to check out and find a better hotel. But the General Manager pleaded with us to not check out and offered us a better room etc. Being year end we could not find other hotel as we were 5 people, we accepted the better room and continued at the place unwillingly. There were pests, torn towels, cold staff etc. Unless the management changes for the better and gets motivated staff, this place will soon see its end.

We were doing a tour through Cambodia and this was the first hotel we stayed at (3 nights). The hotel is very good for Cambodian standards. It is clean, quiet and the staff is very polite and helpful. We had our sundowner at the pool bar each evening even though the restaurants had already closed for the day. This did not bother the staff, because it seemed that they slept on the premises, we even had the impression that some slept in dark corners of the pool area. The breakfast buffet and egg station offered everything you normal need for your morning meal. Our room faced the pool area which made it so quiet. Facing the street it can get quite noisy. The tourist area (Hard Rock Cafe, a night market, etc.) is in walking distance (1-1.5 mi.), but if you take a Tuk Tuk it is just a dollar or 2 one way. The food in the tourist area is quite good and inexpensive. We would stay at this hotel again.

If you are a seasoned traveler or a novice, you will find welcome and comfort here at the Sokha Roth Hotel. The spacious and well appointed lobby reflective of the style of Cambodian culture, rich woods in ornate designs. The staff is welcoming and show great hospitality. From the welcoming and soothing lemongrass drink, there is a sense of comfort to be had. Even before arriving, the GM, Mr. Vida Sok was very helpful and responsive via email in answering questions and providing information. This information was timely and relevant in preparation for the trip. In person, Mr. Sok was a delight to meet and reflected the dedication and enthusiasm of his staff. The rooms were spacious, clean and airy. We also like the meals prepared by the restaurant. The buffet breakfast offered a adequate selection including a soup and egg station along with a variety of fresh fruits. We ordered lunch and was very pleased with the taste and portions. The pool is a welcome relief after any day of touring the nearby or far away temples. Our tours were arranged through the hotel and we were really pleased with our driver as we opted for a car instead of tuk tuk or van. Obviously there are many choices for places to stay in Siem Reap, but I am extremely happy and satisfied with our choice of the Sokha Roth hotel. I recommend this fine establishment and will definitely stay here again should I return to Siem Reap in the near future.
