Enjoying a 3 week business/holiday trip to Africa in Sep/Oct 2014, Elephant Valley Lodge was our last stop and the icing on the cake of a wonderful experience. We really enjoyed the tented accommodation, first class food, and two animal viewing outings each day. The...More
Awesome is one word to describe this lodge! The staff were there before you could blink an eye. They even did our laundry. What an experience to eat out in the open with a fire going and animals visiting the waterhole. Love, love this place.
The tented cabins are somewhat different. They are quite large with basic requirements
inside.& the bathroom offered a very good shower. The only fault that I had with this cabin
was that an extra light was needed in the main area.

The good: The game viewing in Chobe was awesome. Our guide had bionic eyes or something, because he would spot things while driving at the same time, and the rest of us were straining to see what he was pointing at.
The bad: I stayed...More
But, sorry, not the meals. We had been told that the dinners were gourmet here. While breakfast and lunch were OK, the dinners were bizarrely bad. Our friends who had stayed here before said there was a clear decline in this aspect of the lodge....More

Good day. The past month of November has been great. It is a hot month still but as it is the start of the rainy season, it has cooled down a bit. I personally love November as everything comes to life after the dry season.

Hi there, I recommend SAA from Joburg to VicFalls; Zimbabwe-visa has gone cheaper and now costs 30 USD (cash!) instead of 50. Don't let others tell you the falls are in Zambia, as the best view (and the park to walk alongside it) is and always was in Zim for sure. My recommendation: do not miss "High Tea" in the Victoria Falls Hotel (USD 15) - an absolute must - apart from experiencing the friendly Zimbabwean service you will also see the bridge and the spray of the falls while dining on cucumber sandwiches. Camp sites in Zim are clean and generally safe. The people are extremely friendly and will be grateful you visit their negative-news-ridden country. Have fun!
