We arrived at the Oruru bus station at 3:30 am. Many people were sleeping outside the bus station, but noone bothered us. We went inside where everything was closed except for the woman selling tickets to the public bathrooms at 1.50 Bs each. Per San Felipe´s instructions, I asked her about a radio taxi to take us to our hotel. She pointed me to a closed door and told us to knock. The woman who answered called the taxi and it was there in two minutes. (I speak Spanish so there was no communication problem. Dont know if it would have been so each otherwise.) San Felipe looked dark and closed, but I rang the timbre (bell) and immediately was let in. offered coca mate, and a room. The water is hot, hot all night long in shower and sink. The beds are comfortable. Rooms clean. Not much closet, but not needed. Calefaccion in the room. Worked well. Breakfast adequate eggs, toast yoghurt. Oruru is built on a mountain side. La Plata and Soria Galvarro run across the mountain and are flat, an easy 10 min walk to the downtown plazas Plaza 10 de febrero and Castro de Padilla.. San Felipe and Muriguia run up the mountain, not so easy to walk. The only downside is that all the restaurants are near the plazas and San Felipe has no evening restaurant or bar. Seems safe to walk, but the streets are not well lit. Taxis may be needed to dine at night. There is a little corner store nearby. They have a great computer in lobby and wi fi in the rooms. Another downside, they charge 6% on credit card charges.

This place is great for the value. Don Hector at the reception is so helpful!! There is breakfast included (not the best, but alright). There's Internet included and the rooms are clean. We stayed here for 4 nights and had a great stay.

Rooms very clean ,but small. Nice bed. They do not speak English, but are helpful and they went out of their way to provide breakfast early,so we could travel to the mountain village of sacaca. The town center is a short walk away.
