Got a surprise treat by my Wife here. Arabic style old designs. Swimming pool, falcon show camel ride and good food at al forsan for breakfast too. There are 3 - swimming pools. Also the surroundings are good. At night it's lit up beautifully . There is a pathway to al hadheera cafe that's a must try especially for couples....

Truly a 5* luxury resort. They go out all the way making you feel spoilt to the bone. The pool and area was amazing. I little too inside the desert so nothing else close by- but being there you wouldn't want to step out either ways. Amazing food options as well including breakfast and drinks.

We treated our daughter and boyfriend to a desert retreat on her birthday. The holiday was just perfect thanks to the excellent staff. Everyone went out of their way to make her birthday so special. It was our second visit but will not be our last!!! Thank you

Three nights getaway in our favourite Dubai resort, what could be better? Well it turns out, lots could be better actually... since the last time we stayed, the standard has dropped significantly and although the resort remains 5 star, the service was generally poor to very poor. We nearly had to check ourselves in (and out), the reception was understaffed...

I will start with the positive. The location is awesome. It's out in the desert. Windy, sand everywhere. Not much really around. Driving up to it, looks like what you would think old Dubai might have looked like. The interior and courtyard areas were beautiful. The pool was amazing. The rooms were amazing. Very detailed. Very romantic. Try to get...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Translated from Arabic as "Gateway to the sun", the *award-winning 5-star Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa is designed to resemble a fortified rural Arab village amidst the desert landscape. Featuring low-rise architecture, this sandy coloured style fort boasts the main tower with Reception area and lobby and clusters of two-storey buildings housing guest accommodation, restaurants, spa and meeting facilities interconnected by seemingly endless little walkways. The charm of Arabia is personified in every corner of the property with small lanes running through the hotel, scattered around ponds and secluded seating areas, shaded courtyards, water fountains and trickling streams bestowing the feel of cool tranquillity. The abundance of green garden areas and manicured lawns adds to the quiet and soothing environment of the resort. The rustic Arabian theme of exterior design continues to flow in the carefully selected interior decorations and settings featuring uncovered natural stone floors, bare plastered walls, dark wood and iron fixtures, warm dimmed lighting and an abundance of artefacts showcased throughout the property. The resort boasts 113 rooms and suites offering cosy accommodation in an authentic Arabian style with majority of the rooms having a private terrace. All guest rooms and public areas have complimentary Wi-Fi access. *World's Leading Desert Resort, World Travel Awards. ... more   less
