Beautiful oasis in the desert and only 45 minutes from Dubai. We had a great time at the resort, service, food, location all perfect. Also, was a nice reminder to wake up to a real dawn chorus Recommended for a luxury peaceful weekend getaway.

Stayed for just one night at Bab Al Shams and it was so relaxing I felt like I'd had a week off work. We got upgraded upon arrival and our room was ready a few hours early. Wonderful staff and service, we mentioned that it was our anniversary and got gorgeous cake, fruit basket and patchi chocolates delivered to the...

I booked one night in this resort after I saw the reviews on tripadvisor.it is located about 70 km from Dubai city. You can reach there by a taxi from the airport or from the city and it will cost you under 200 dirhams, and it is cheaper that way than booking aride from the hotel. This resort is in the...

We have been to Bab Al Shams twice. The first time was during summer and it was lovely and quiet. Some of the restaurants were shut, but the overall vibe was really relaxed and peaceful. We really felt like we were retreating from the world and enjoyed the pools. It was a perfect retreat. The second time we went on...

I booked a surprise trip for me and my now fiancé. We had a couples massage a 4x4 trip and stayed in a terrace room. I intended to propose and the staff were fantastic, arranging flowers and rose petals in the room afterwards. We ate in Al Hadheerah restaraunt which is must and relaxed by the pools for the rest...

I booked a surprise night at this resort for my husband and daughter to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my birthday, during a longer stay in Dubai & Abu Dhabi. With hindsight, I really wish we had reserved at least 2 nights here, as it truly was a 5* desert oasis, at a fraction of the cost to stay at...

Bab al Shams is a beautiful and well kept resort, that is located at less than an hour's drive from either Dubai or Abu Dhabi, offering you the opportunity to experience one of the most mesmerising aspects of the UAE - the desert. The prices for rooms, meals and amenities are reasonable, the rooms are large, well decorated and comfortable...

Really relaxing place. Stayed here in May and expected it to be too hot but weather was good cooler in evening. Rooms were large and privately arranged with own terrace. Next to stables so next time. Stayed here for 1 night during our time in Dubai, the hotel is lovely, rooms are really comfortable and roomy, 3 big swimming pools (it's a shame the pool is closed by 8pm) and lots of deck chairs for relaxing by the pool after a refreshing dip. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Translated from Arabic as "Gateway to the sun", the *award-winning 5-star Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa is designed to resemble a fortified rural Arab village amidst the desert landscape. Featuring low-rise architecture, this sandy coloured style fort boasts the main tower with Reception area and lobby and clusters of two-storey buildings housing guest accommodation, restaurants, spa and meeting facilities interconnected by seemingly endless little walkways. The charm of Arabia is personified in every corner of the property with small lanes running through the hotel, scattered around ponds and secluded seating areas, shaded courtyards, water fountains and trickling streams bestowing the feel of cool tranquillity. The abundance of green garden areas and manicured lawns adds to the quiet and soothing environment of the resort. The rustic Arabian theme of exterior design continues to flow in the carefully selected interior decorations and settings featuring uncovered natural stone floors, bare plastered walls, dark wood and iron fixtures, warm dimmed lighting and an abundance of artefacts showcased throughout the property. The resort boasts 113 rooms and suites offering cosy accommodation in an authentic Arabian style with majority of the rooms having a private terrace. All guest rooms and public areas have complimentary Wi-Fi access. *World's Leading Desert Resort, World Travel Awards. ... more   less
