Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Located in close proximity to the airport and metro, the Holiday Inn Express Dubai Airport offers a mix of experiences. While some guests commend the hotel for its clean rooms and hospitable staff, others point to smaller room sizes and noise levels as drawbacks. The hotel's shuttle service is popular, though occasional disorganization and shuttle timing issues have been noted.
Travelers are divided on value, with some finding the hotel affordable and others questioning the cost-benefit ratio. The modern British pub-style atmosphere is well-received, yet the charm is occasionally marred by maintenance concerns.

Hotel's Favourite
Only stayed for 1 night as over 7 hours in Dubai Airport. Never really had much dealings at this hotel. It does run a shuttle bus to and from the hotel which I did not know about before. I only discovered about this at Dubai Airport. Would probably stay at this hotel again if returning to Dubai Airport.

I checked in with Peter at the front desk. He recognized my Platinum membership and briefed me on the COVID rules for the Hotel. He noticed I have stayed with the Holiday Inn Express – Airport numerous times and thanked me for my loyalty. I booked a King Airport View room and was put on the 3RD floor. I normally stay at the hotel during layovers. This time I had an extended stay with them.
The room was clean. I was told that housekeeping would clean the room every 5 days. The housekeeping crew did come by every day and asked if I wanted my room cleaned. The room contains a king sized bed, a love seat sized sofa with a pull out bed and a combo wardrobe; desk; suitcase holder and mini fridge cabinet. It’s a pretty tight squeeze between the bed and wardrobe doors when they’re open.
The bathroom is OK sized, but not too tight. The bathroom mirror is triple sided so you can see front and both sides when standing at the sink. The shower doors close at a corner, so make sure the doors are sealed before directing water in that direction.
The complimentary breakfast buffet is in the Great Room. It’s a good spread with plenty of variety of types of eggs, potatoes, Indian food, Asian food and local food. It also has a variety of cereals, fruits, cheeses and breads. They also have 3 coffee machines that make various types of coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The Great Room also serves a lunch and dinner buffet. Thursdays they have a seafood buffet and a fresh seafood tray where you can select what you want and the kitchen crew will grill it for you.
The bar in the hotel opens at noon and closes at 0200. Happy hour is 1800 – 2000. They were showing the Euro 2000 and Copa America soccer matches on the TV’s. They were also running a burger and beer special.
The only real issue I had is when I was told my scheduled flight was cancelled and I needed to extend 2 days. The front desk person told me I couldn’t because they were full. I went to my room to find another IHG hotel to stay in and found out the Holiday Inn Express – Airport was available for the 2 days. Pretty strange for being told the hotel was full. I booked the same room, but this time with dinner included. I also discovered that covered lunch also, a nice bonus surprise. This review covers both stays. There is construction next to the hotel, the opposite side from the airport, so book an airport view room.
I would like to commend the following for their exceptional service during my stay:
Front Desk: Peter, Jenifer, Naisa (don’t know if I spelled her name correctly)
Great Room: Leizl, Fatima, Raquamah (spelling?),Priya, Friday, Khagendro
Bar: The weren’t wearing name plates, but the 3 persons in the bar
Housekeeping: The entire 3RD floor cleaning crew.

A great and spotlessly clean property with free shuttle from Dubai airport. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the price was very cheap considering its Dubai.
The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were so well insulated that we slept very well.
It has an excellent breakfast buffet as HI Express properties go that is varied with plenty of choice and quantity of food.
The front desk staff are very friendly and efficient.
The only complaint is that when I asked reception for a taxi to the port on our day of departure they told me just to get one from outside the door. When I went outside someone immediately took our bags and before we knew it were in the cab ready to go but then he announced he didn't have a meter and the price being quoted was way higher than the normal price. I did question him and he immediately came down by 2/3 of the price initially quoted. This experience was a bit of a shame and I think the hotel should control these taxis waiting outside the door.
All in all a great stay.

Foremost no apologies for me to bench this hotel with the ones back in the good old UsA which is a medium range hotel at best 3 stars in the hotel chain segment like Travel Inn or the upper Best western.
The carpets look very old and were stained and if I was a consultant to the hotel I would recommend changing the carpet to faux timber or wood looking linoleum. Far easier to maintain and good for those suffering from dusty or dirty carpets.
There are no nearby eateries but a bar downstair with friendly service and bad food ( eg club sandwich had more fries than meat in the sandwich.
Other complaints are stuff used by guest remained uncollected and it reminds you of messy no star motels in the USA.
The shower is very small and if you are extra large size you might not fit into the cubicle..My room overlook a wall and the wall light turns off when you close the wardrobe door.
whilst it s proximity and free shuttle to airport, free breakfast are drawcard, the hotel obviously need to better clean its carpet..any one who is from Asia knows carpet is not suitable medium for flooring but rather timber or ceramic tiles. this is where international hotels need to adapt to local climatic conditions or culture.
The segments whom patronise this hotel look like a United Nation motley where some don't even know how to use an automatic expresso/coffee making machine at breakfast.
Rooms are also small compared with local branded hotels downtown.
No complaints about service notwithstanding I had to pick up my meals myself and return the tray back to the bar after eating.

I got the feeling that this hotel has not been renovated for a while, as the hotel room was a bit old fashioned and worn, but it was cheap and I certainly felt that we got value for money. It worked just fine for our purpose, just having somewhere to sleep while waiting for our connection flight.
Only disappointment from our side was that it took longer than expected to get from the airport to the hotel, and with only 8 hours in Dubai, this mattered a lot. We knew the hotel was right next to terminal 3, and when getting out of terminal 3 we could see the hotel in a short walking distance. Only thing, it was not possible to walk there because of the highways between the hotel and the airport. So we waited for the free Shuttle Bus that goes every half hour, it went by terminal 1 to pick up some more passengers, before returning to the hotel. We used 45 minutes from we got our of the airport to arriving at the hotel, which was a bit annoying given the short distance.

Hello Anne Lise M, I am glad you got in touch with us about your experience at our hotel. I am sorry to learn that we fell below your expectations regarding the shuttle service. I appreciate your taking the time to let us know. The experience you described certainly isn’t what we want for any guest. I have shared your comments with hotel management, who responded with genuine concern for the impact this had on your stay. I know they appreciate you sharing your experience, and I am confident they will take appropriate steps so this doesn’t happen again. Again, as one of our valued guests, thanks for your review. We hope you would consider staying with us again. Kind Regards, Dianne L. Case Manager IHGService

The good things: very close to the airport, friendly shuttle service, felt generally safe, affordable
The bad things: bathroom was dingy, moldy, and just generally needed a good cleaning. There was still toothpaste on one of the "clean" cups. There was a restaurant special prominently displayed in the room, but after I ordered it I was told "we don't do that anymore". To be fair they reduced the charge to match the faux promotion, but only after I really put my foot down. Staff were generally dismissive and hard to track down. Wifi was quite bad.

+1
This hotel is very convenience if you need to stay 1 night on the airport, just 5 min from Terminal 3 ( Emirates Airlines) by bus shuttle. Otherwise if you stay longer as me, due to the unforeseen reason, the subway is located 10 min walk from the hotel. The subway station is EMIRATES, from there you can reach Dubai, in about 20 min ( Burj Khalifa )
The staff is not extremely polite and friendly, some of then are nice...but believe a few of them!
Breakfast is included with your booking reservation, buffet only with a selection of everything, many Indian food.
Lunch and Dinner is a buffet too, with a option on a Bar restaurant, but a little bit expensive! As a menu restaurant.
My room was nice, with a 2 bottle of water supply everyday!.
On my recomendación, good solution at all, and depend on your budget.

The Holiday Inn Express Dubai Airport Hotel is fabulous. All of the hotel staff are highly professional and friendly. The highly qualified staff made sure that my room is cleaned to the highest standards and ensured that it had all the required supplies for a very comfortable stay. Calling for required hotel services was simple and easy with a fast response.
The Front Manager, Mr. Haroon, and the Restaurant Manager, Ms. Leizel demonstrates genuine concern for my needs as a guest of the hotel. Both management and staff ensure my hotel needs are met and exceeded. It is a great honor to stay in this hotel with such wonderful personnel.
I’m really enjoying my pleasantly comfortable stay at this great hotel. Fortunately, I get to spend additional time here. It’s a wonderful experience.
Thank you very much for the great service.
Respectfully,

Our experience with this hotel was terrible. We stayed here for 5 nights and during these days, it was difficult to get housekeeping service. We had to call Housekeeping just to take out our garbage. Shower was defective and the water was always hot. They changed the shower knob and still it is defective. The hallways smelled bad especially near the lobby. No conceirge or bell services to assist with your luggages.
I do not see this as budget hotel as we booked this through RCI. This is way more expensive with poor service, than the other hotel we initially stayed in. I requested for a hotel near the airport and RCI booked this. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

I would not book here but was not given a choice as it is a quarantine location provided by my employers.
Update to the update: Spoke with the manager again. Hotel security received the order and did nothing with it. I told the manager instead of having hotel security, who should be watching the entrance, deliver food to guests. Have him receive whatever order, turn around, and walk the 20-30 feet to the front desk and have hotel staff handle it. Why are guests offering solutions to simple problems. Am I wrong for wanting food I paid for delivered hot?
Update: spoke to the manager about the issue of slow delivery time by hotel staff. He started to explain why and I had to stop him. I am not concerned with why it takes so long. I am concerned that guests wait in excess of 20 minutes to receive an order that arrives hot and is delivered cold because they have a poor system in place. Room service food is expedited but I have not ordered given that the quality of the provided quarantine meals is so mediocre.
Original Review: In quarantine so can't leave the room. Hotel food has been consistently poor quality and when ordering out hotel staff take their sweet time delivering anything. 10, 15, 20, and one time 30 minutes to deliver hot food to the 2nd floor. Talked to the manager who assured me he would address the issue and still the same slow response. Front desk wasn't even aware my order had been delivered 10 minutes prior. This time took 20 minutes from drop off till food in hand. It's 0430 so I know it's not busy. Just lazy, incompetent, or both?

It's never our intention to let down our guests. I admire you taking the time to let your thoughts be known. No worries, I conveyed your feedback to the management, as well as to the food and beverage team. I'm confident that your thoughts can help them in ascertaining the next steps towards improvement.
