We were travelling with our children (4 and 7 years old) and stayed at Villa Maydou for 1 night. It is located next to a temple in a beautiful garden with beautiful buildings (some of which are designated UNESCO heritage) and a good pool. The rooms are big and tastefully decorated, the staff is smiling and helpful, and the breakfast...

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Villa Maydou. had a lovely spacious room overlooking the pool (yes, it is green - due to the green tiles!! - and very refreshing). It's a pretty laid back atmosphere, great for kicking back late afternoon after day time wanderings. I agree that the upper rooms are probably best - we were...

We stayed in Villa Maydou for 4 nights and can say that overall we liked the place. This is an architect structure, recently renovated and very nice for the eye. The downside is that the services were not in line with the settings. We constantly had hot water shortage and the bicycles were never available. Breakfast was very good but...

The hotel is very stylish with wood but not at all practical if you get the lower rooms. The noises from upstairs sound soo loud & you keep praying that the guests staying above you settle down fast. The room has no provisions to make yourself a hot drink.Beds i found were very hard. Breakfast was very meagre.First time we were asked...

stayed for four nights (three nights in one room and the fourth in another room because of travelling). Both rooms were lovely, spacious and clean. All the staff were very friendly. We enjoyed the bar, the restaurant (for both breakfast and dinner) and the swimming pool, even though it took a while to get used to the green tiles used...

This lodging is hidden in the backyard garden of a Buddhist wat. It consists of five buildings representing different building traditions in Laos. It’s more like a bungalow area in a well-kept orchard than a hotel in the traditional meaning. My room was in the Tradition 1925 building. The design of the buildings and the interior of the rooms try...

Dear Risto M Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback about your stay at our hotel. I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. Our architecture and gardens are definitely the things we are very proud of about our hotel. Villa Maydou is indeed 15mn walk from main street, I’m sorry...

We stayed here for 3 nights in a dark though large ground floor room with a good bathroom. The breakfast was disappointingly meagre in choice and the staff, including the manager, were not the most warm. They made an arithmetical mistake with our bill and I was made to feel guilty. Also laundry costs were high. The situation was good,...

As the hotel is right beside a Buddist monastery you get woken every morning at 6 by the ringing of bells and beating of drums....but you also get to feel part of the country! On arrival we asked the French owner if we could eat in the restaurant. He did not mention the set menu was no longer served after...

I had a lovely 4 night stay at Villa Maydou. I stayed in one of the older historic rooms and found it to be quite large and comfortable. The overall feel of the place is charming and quiet. The breakfast was simple but quite good. The location is also a bonus. It was a 10 minute walk to the night...

This hotel is really well managed, the team is dedicated to give its best to its customers. The old colonial-style buildings are incredibly beautiful and kept in their original spirit. The swimming pool was very nice after a day of walking in Luang Prabang town. All in all, this is one of the best hotels I know in LPB.
