We stayed at Villa Merry in May of 2011. My boyfriend was very sick with food poisoning that he had gotten in Hanoi the day before. The staff was incredible. Chou (I hope I'm spelling this right) was awesome! She took me to the pharmacist and helped me get medication. She switched our room immediately when the aircon didn't seem...

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious and clean. Bathroom was roomy and fit for purpose. Breakfast was delicious, can definitely recommend the banana pancakes. Went on excursion booked through hotel, good value and excellent service.

Literally, when I arrived hot, tired and sweaty the first and only thing I wanted was a shower. After getting a few dribbles out of the tap I went to reception to get told there was no water as they were fixing the hot water heater. Couldn't have told me before I paid could they. AC then also was not...

Stayed 3 nights here and found it comfortable and clean. I recommend it if you don't mind climbing stairs or walking a bit to get to the more interesting parts of town. I'd consider staying here again but would also look at some of the smaller guesthouses.

The young man, Paul, who is the receptionist/porter/short-order cook is incredibly friendly and efficient. When I checked in, the first room had a funny smell in the bathroom, the next one had a rattling air-conditioner, so he patiently escorted me to a third one. The place is quite good, but you could probably find equally good places at the same...

We booked this hotel online ahead of time and wished we had waited and found something when we got to town. It was ok, but we definitely could have found a better deal in town. The location is good. There is a great bar and traveler's book store (with free movie showings) across the street. Everything is in walking distance....

We reserved this guesthouse/hotel in advance. It was $35-40 a night, so we expected it to be really nice. I had read the reviews for the place and some were outstanding and others not so positive. I have to say that no one should stay here especially in room 1-1. Adjacent to the window of room 1-1 there is a...

“I stayed in a Superior Double Room (see photo) which was $28 per night. Some may consider this quite expensive especially compared to other rooms options in Luang Prabang Hostels, but I thought it was excellent value for what I was looking for.”
