Getting to Kamu Lodge from Luang Prabang is an experience in itself. We travelled for 2/12 hours in a Lao long boat up the Mekong River. The river bank sights are superb with local people fishing or planting crops right up to the river's edge. There are many rapids and it was exhilarating to see the swirls and whirlpools of...

Kamu lodge is located in a beautiful green area, along the Mekong river. The neighbors are Laotian people living in the village nearby (to be visited). Plenty of local activities are proposed, food is good, and all the staff is charming and helpful. A great experience with children!

Kamu Lodge is an absolutely great and unique destination, an authentic escape to the Lao jungle! You travel by boat, passing by the Pak Ou Caves, and you are so nicely welcomed by your guide. He will perfectly take care of you during your stay. After a warm welcome by the friendly staff and checking into the lovely safari tents...

Travelling on Luang Say Mekong boat cruise, an overnight stay at Kamu is a must. Felt as though I was living in a special village. My tent was spacious, well appointed and had a hot shower and flush toilet in the bathroom. Chairs on the tiled deck, table with freshly picked flowers and silence looking out into the lush garden...

We spent 2 nights here with our 9 year old and had a great experience. The boat trip to Kamu Lodge via the Pak Ou caves was really enjoyable and our guide, Mr. Lee was incredibly knowledgeable. Mr. Lee (and Olivier, the Kamu Lodge manager) also made our stay in Kamu Lodge memorable and fun. We walked with Mr. Lee...

Loved this place... We stayed here on the Luang Say river cruise and it was the highlight of the trip for me. The Eco tents were fun quirky. At this time of year it is crazy hot but I found the little solar fans were more than enough to be comfortable but I am from Darwin so use to the...

We stayed overnight here as part of our boat trip down the Meekong river . The tent accommodation was a great experience , it can get very hot though and the little solar operated fans above your bed don't really do much to cool you down . Lee our lodge guide was exceptional he toured us through the local village...

The long boat road from Luang Prabang to Kamu Lodge was enjoyable and breathtaking! The guide, Tong, was fantastic and on call to ensure all our needs were met. His knowledge of the area was immense and we were impressed by his relationships he had with both the locals and staff at the lodge. The afternoon was filled with activities...

This one place you really can and have to switch off, a camp in the jungle on the edge of the Mekong river. The accommodation was a very comfortable tent under a thatched roof. The bathroom is attached and the whole camp is on solar power, so no power points no internet no Mobile phone coverage, so chill out and...

A lovely "back to basics" stay a few hours up the Mekong from Luang Prabang. Recommend a 24 hour stay to unwind and immerse yourself in the local way of life. All staff are from the local village. Very pretty setting. Make sure you visit the local village and especially the school.

Sitting along the Mekong River, Kamu Lodge offers the unique opportunity to experience slow travel with accommodation in our spacious "African Safari" tents, each with a private balcony and thatched roofs. Activities include the chance to learn traditional crafts from the Kamu people of net fishing, gold panning and to learn with a "hands on" opportunity of rice planting and harvesting. We also offer traditional massages that complement the experience. Enjoy al fresco dining at the lodge's rustic restaurant in the middle of the rice fields. We serve Lao specialties, offering lunch, dinner and breakfast included in the package. There is also a well-stocked bar, offering a delicious selection of drinks and refreshments. Kamu Lodge is in Yoi Hai Village, a 2.5-hour boat ride from Luang Prabang, tour includes a stop at the revered Pak Ou Caves.
