Luang Prabang (LP) can be an expensive place as families holiday as opposed to just backpackers (same as Hoi An in Vietnam). Wanted to be near the Main Street but we were getting quoted $35 and $50 so when we found Heritage and were told they did a room for 100000kip (£8.50/$12) we were thrilled considering it was off the...

We stayed in Heritage Guesthouse twice during our stay in Luang Prabang. On the first occasion, we were searching for a place to stay as we couldn't extend our stay at another guesthouse - Heritage Guest House offered us the best price (£7 per night) and a good sized room. We had room 7 - as a previous reviewer mentioned,...

We visited Luang Prabang during the Chinese Newyear which nearly left us roomless, since every place in LP was fully booked. When we stumbled upon Heritage Guesthouse after 4 hours of desperately looking for a room, they had only one room left, which was room nummer 7. We didn't have a choice but to take it, however it was not...

I found Heritage at the very last minute, during high season, on a friend's recommendation. I wasn't expecting much, especially since it was so hard to find their contact info. When I arrived I was shocked to find out that the location was right in the heart of town and the house itself was gorgeous. Dark hardwood floors and comfy...

It was obvious customer satisfaction was important to the owners. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and air conditioned. Heritage Guesthouse is well positioned just near the main street, quiet and great value for money. Highly recommended.

Heritage is centrally based making it an ideal spot for eating and sightseeing. Staff are very friendly and dog is very cute, if not a little overenthusiastic sometimes! Room was basic but clean and good value. Pay a bit extra for an upstairs ac room, it will be worth it.

It was relaxing to collapse on the beds at night, we had a good triple and enjoyed the rest and quiet. The bathroom could have used some minor work, but ours had a very natural feel (green/beige tiles, rocks along all the wall/floor corners) and served the purpose. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful, allowing us to...

Both my friend and I enjoyed our stay at the Heritage Guest House. The rooms were basic, but well priced. The staff was friendly, although not the most proficient in English. My biggest complaint was that not all the fixtures in the bathroom worked particularly well. Namely, the toilet was old and did not flush well. With a few minor...

This is the first guesthouse we went to, as it was mentioned in our guide book and was closest to the river. We were met by a shifty looking character who quoted $10 for a room with a fan, and $15 for A/C and hot water. He showed us the rooms. But we could get the rooms for $8 and...

“Room 17 is in the front, great view but very loud. Room 15 was big and nice and quiet.”

“Ask to see the rooms, check the bathrooms and test the beds always, and always always negotiate hard on price! Be sure that when you turn on the AC there are not noises that would make sleeping uncomfortable, also consider whether a fan would be enough rather than AC.”
